Guest guest
I'm reading " Brady's Book of Fixed Stars " by Bernadette Brady (a Tropicalist, it seems) and she to like parans. When she said that it seemed clear that Stonehenge was used to determine parans I was hooked. I just read something by Gramalkin in which it was said that parans were of no use. May I asked the opinions of the readers of this list as to the relevance of parans? Thank you Liath Macha

Actually, I learn to use stars' parans to angles and Sun from Denis Labouré. Actually I rather use those from angles (rise, culmination and setting) and find them quite useful. I have Spica (Ven-Mar) and Algol (Sat-Jup), which I find describe me well enough... But of course, the two «schools» coexist... -- Regards, François

Hi Liath, Siderealists generally swear by parans. For myself, I've never made up my mind about them. Parans are another topic that needs lots of research. The best way to study parans is to test them out in your own chart and charts of people you know well. Therese
