This evening I read parts of Richard Riso's UNDERSTANDING THE ENNEAGRAM. I

knew in the past I could not make a good correlation with the planets, but

I didn't remember why. Reading again I see that I see the planets somewhat

differently than you do, and (without looking at your theory) I marked

possible planets next to the numbers. They were all different from yours!

But some numbers sounded more like zodiac signs with stelliums, and some

read like combinations of planets.

So I feel bad that I can't help you make a decision on 3-6-9. Actually I

gave 9 to Venus--peaceful, reassuring, passive. (Someone pointed out on

another forum a while ago that Venus used to be associated with drugs and

alcohol, whereas now astrologers put these under Neptune.)

Perhaps the Enneagram has been expanded upon since Riso wrote that book

(1990). My problems is I see that the planets can express in so many

different ways, and I see most of the Enneagram numbers as combinations.

For example, Mercury can be very analytical, so I gave number 5 to Mercury,

and you gave it to Saturn. Five seems to have traits from both.

So anything I would say would only increase confusion. I will have to leave

the Enneagram to those who have studied it extensively.

My apologies,

Therese
