Here's a thought on Saturn and Venus as friends: Venus rules Libra,

the sign of marriage. Venus rules one-to-one relationships. Saturn,

according to the Gauquelins " likes family. " (i.e., the private life)

 

My friend who has Saturn on the ascendant and a very good Venus in

Libra in the 5th puts family--husband, children, mother--absolutely

*first* in her life. Nothing compares to them in importance. For most

of her life she's been homemaker, but she's also a poet and a student

of astrology.

My take on how the Venus Saturn friendship works is the Venus rules

relationships, love for others, and Saturn has to do with patience,

responsibility, the ability to work through problems, stick-to-itiveness,

willingness to compromise. Think of the traditional Christian marriage vows

....for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, etc, etc. It sounds

like the perfect combination of V and S. It's a combination that has to do

with putting the other fellow/gal ahead of oneself, being willing to make

sacrifices for the good of the relationship.

 

That being said, I've still noticed plenty of problems in the charts of

folks with those two planets combined.

Bettina, so maybe those of us with key planets in Libra are supposed

to be learning patience...for richer or poorer...in sickness and in

health...!! Sounds good, a reason for Saturn's exaltation in Libra.
