I'll try to reply in detail later today. The explanation of this confusion is very simple, and I seem to be the only one I'm aware of who follows Fagan and his contemporaries on this matter. A very simple explanation is there if you look at any map of the sky with the tropical and sidereal signs marked on the ecliptic. You see that any tropical sign is in the same area of the sky as the preceding sidereal sign except for a few overlapping degrees. One part of the sky (ecliptic)can have only *one* sign influence. The question then becomes, " Are the traits of Tropical Capricorn (which is in the same area of the sky as sidereal Sagittarius) more like Jupiter or Saturn? Fagan and others, myself included, have concluded that the traits are more like Jupiter. Therefore (*BIG* statement by Fagan...) there is *NO* Tropical zodiac. All we're seeing is the bleedthrough of the ever existing sidereal signs. (more on this in a future post) >Theresa, I also have a question about Saturn in Asc in Gem that your >friend has. There seem to be two takes on it. >One is the 'fear' of learning... I know my friend disliked school, but she did get a four year college degree, and her dad was a language professor at a univesity. I've noted that her Saturn acts like a traditional Saturn (before 20th century psychological astrology). She is often looked down upon by others as a 'servant' type of person, though she's very intelligent. She greatly dislikes status, and is very conservative in that she spends as little money as possible and likes total simplicity in her life style. She's often said she'd like to live in a small RV in a community in the woods. Your post is one reason I like to see new students of sidereal astrology on this forum. You force us all to examine the basics and how we work. I'll repond in more detail to your post later today as time allows. Thank, you, Bliss, for these questions.
