Guest guest
Hi all, Are the Vedic Navamsa and the 9th harmonic chart ( that you can make at astro.com ) exactly the same things? I know navamsa is used to further analyse the natal placements, but are the aspects between navamsa and the natal also important? Say, the D-9 (Navamsa) Jup is cjnct N Sun. Does that mean anything or the charts analyzed in their own totality only. Thanks Bliss I drew the navamsa at some sites
Guest guest
Hi Bliss, Yes, they are calculated in the same way (by multiplying natal positions by 9 and expunging multiples of 360). There are no fixed rules about hot to interpret the navamsa chart so feel free to use in any way you like. Cetainly, the overlay approach that you mention is used to gain a better sense of the relationship between planets. Most astrologers who play on the Hindu side of the fence will use it separately in order to check strengths and weaknesses of natal planets and also to gain more insight in the planetary periods. A dasha of a planet that is exalted in the navamsa chart, for example, is likely to be more favourable and will also promise good results with marriage and love.
