Dear Fellow Siderealists,

Rather than focusing on abstracted concepts in astrology, I thought it might be

fun to examine the chart of a real person. What can we say about the likely

attributes of the person based only on the birth data? Feel free to chime in

with any comments, long or short.

Here's the data I have selected:

June 18 1929 20.00 CET Dusseldorf, Germany.

I know the time is rounded, but it should be considered reasonably accurate.

Since the ascendant is 24 Scorpio, a few minutes either way won't change things

substantially.

Well, it seems that the chart data I gave out is in ADB so that takes some of

the fun of the whole process. The data belongs to German social philospher

Jurgen Habermas. But you knew that already...

I think I may abandon celebrities entirely and post a chart of one of the little

people.

Since I rely heavily on close aspects to the angles and the navamsa

ascendant which determines where planets fall in that chart, 'a few

minutes' (anything over 7 minutes either way) will drastically change

the chart from my perspective. For mystery charts I believe we should

be working with recorded time in minutes, best recorded by an

astrologer present at the birth.

Chris, if you reply, please avoid personal comments in your reply and

focus on the problem of birth time. Let's try to remain with

astrology and avoid emotional reactions that usually involve telling

someone they're wrong. We should all be saying, " I've found this to

be work, " or, " I believe this to be true... " All we have to go on is

our own personal experience or research results from groups of charts.

General to all: Any hint of saracasm or flaming from anyone on this

list, and that person will be placed on moderation.

Re: this mystery chart, there are some powerful configuations even

without an exact birth time that give hints about the nature of the

person--most especially Moon in Vishaka with the nodes, and ascendant

lord Mars square this configuration. But knowing the navamsa

ascendant would verify the chart for me.

My personal belief is that it's nearly impossible to pull out the few

symbolic traits from the many that are possible for each planet at

this stage of our astrological knowledge--except for psychics or

intuitives. We know from this chart that the 9th, 6th, 12th and 7th

receive heavy emphasis. The question is, " Exactly how will this

emphasis manifest? " For the rounded time of birth, the nodes are

extremely important in the chart.

Therese,

I seem to have punted this one. This chart can be found in ADB -- yikes! For

some reason, I had thought the person was more obscure and wouldn't have made

the cut.

Sorry, but I don't think this is a good candidate for our consideration. My

mistake.

I'll dig out a chart of a real person, ie non celebrity.

Thank you, Chris. That chart looked familiar to me, and I would have

caught it in ADB--just haven't had time to look, and I'm busy until

evening.

Chris, that's probably a good idea. That was an obscure chart though. I

don't think anyone would have guessed that the person was a German social

philosopher. I'm not even sure how to describe what a social philsopher is.

It was fairly obvious that the man was a teacher (Mercury in 7th in

Taurus). I can only say that because I've seen that position in other

charts of professional teachers.

By social philosopher, I was trying to include Habermas's specific contributions

to social theory and sociology. But he's an incomprehensible as most regular

philosophers.
