Guest guest
Hi All, I was going through the Aries file in the Links and found this ...... " It is the only zodiacal constellation so represented, and in Egyptian symbolism, signified sunset, thus identifying Aries with the descendant or cusp of the 7th house....As to the dominion of the 7th House, the Arabian astrologers, Aedila, Alcabitius, and Morbecca, as well as all the noteworthy medieval writers, concur that it is the house of war, battle, strife, enmity, duels, encounters with thieves, lawsuits, pleas fines, and all contentions; oppositions, contrariness, and things opposed, agreeing with the influence of warlike Aries. But since the Greeks, astrologically speaking 'turned the zodiac upside-down,' putting Libra on the cusp of the 7th house, the latter has become the house of marriage, unions, partner in marriage, because the rule of Libra is Venus. This is just one instance of the many glaring contradictions abounding in astrology which must be resolved by astrologers before any real headway can be made in the science - if science it is!... " Does it suggest that Libra is wrong in being the 7th house cusp? What am I missing? Any clarifications are welcome. Thanks Bliss
Guest guest
This was apparently one of Fagan's misses. He also believed at one time that the zodiac began with Taurus. One thing Fagan had to his credit is that as he studied and experimented, he continued to adjust his ideas. When he died, he was still in the process of laying a groundwork for sidereal astrology. Some members of this list may have another take on Fagan's suggestion that Libra belongs on the first cusp. I haven't seen this discussed for a long time. Fagan was self-taught in his knowledge of Egypt and its history. Later scholars have made discoveries that Fagan didn't know about: for example, the proof that our astrological zodiac comes from Mesopotamia rather than Egypt. , " theblisswithin " <theblisswithin wrote: > > Hi All, > I was going through the Aries file in the Links and found this ...... > > " It is the only zodiacal constellation so represented, and in > Egyptian symbolism, signified > sunset, thus identifying Aries with the descendant or cusp of the > 7th house....As to the dominion of the 7th House, the Arabian > astrologers, Aedila, Alcabitius, and Morbecca, as well as all the > noteworthy medieval writers, concur that it is the house of war, > battle, strife, enmity, duels, encounters with thieves, lawsuits, > pleas > fines, and all contentions; oppositions, contrariness, and things > opposed, agreeing with the influence of warlike Aries.
