Guest guest
March 2006 Update General The sky looks less than happy this month as a couple of eclipses, and no less than three planetary stations will occur. Saturn continues to fall under the aspect of Rahu for all of this month and well into April. This is clearly going to be a time of erosion or disruption of authority and traditions from external or perhaps unseen forces. The recent controversy surrounding the cartoons in the Danish newspaper is a perfect example of this kind of Rahuvian questioning or undermining of Saturnian tradition. Some sort of negative scenario is all the more likely since Saturn slowing down to its station in the first week of April and thus will pick up strength. There is also a lunar eclipse on the 14th in the first degree of Virgo. Fortunately, this event appears to have a relatively unafflicted chart. A more significant solar eclipse occurs March 29th at 14 degrees of Pisces thus perhaps pointing towards yet more hardship from liquids or water. What makes this eclipse more interesting is that Pluto will station on that very day. This station greatly amplifies Pluto's transformative power for upheaveal and destruction. USA With Bush's poll numbers falling to all-time lows, the focus is gradually shifting towards the elections in November. The strange thing is the Democrats have yet to really build up a head of steam. Part of their problem is a lack of a coherent policy of the Iraq War and the debate with the Democratic party about the appropriate exit strategy. Another reason for the Dems failure to capitalize on the Republican decline is its absence of any clear leader. This has obvious implications for the next Presidential election in 2008. Recent polls on this question suggest that Hilary Clinton is the Democrat most likely to lead the party in 2008. Her poll support is about 25%, well ahead of such luminaries as Kerry, Gore, Obama, and so on. So what are Hilary chances from an astrological perspective? First off, we need to acknowledge the conflicting birth times. There are at least three times floating around with any measure of authenticity, but none so far is clearly correct. A recent contender is October 26, 1947 8.01 pm CST, Chicago. Although there is some reason to think this may be correct in terms of source (none other than Hilary herself, when asked directly), it is puzzling that her 7th house should be less than stellar, given that her husband was President for eight years. Untenanted, and 7th lord Jupiter is in the 6th with Ketu. Hardly a world-beater and not exactly what one would expect given what we know of Bill Clinton, a most un-Ketuvian person. A better prima facia case could be made for 6.03 am which at least does justice to the husband: 7th lord Mars in the 10th house tightly conjunct powerful Pluto. I don't want to make any decision on the birth time at this point, but I did want to mention how strong her chart -- whatever the correct the time --will be in November 2008. Secondary progressed Jupiter applying to an exact trine with less than one degree orb with the Mars-Pluto conjunction (BTW, the progressed 6.03 am ascendant is there too). An even more specifically favourable configuration is seen in the tertiary progressed chart. As Houck noted, victory in elections and in fact, contests of any type, usually feature some kind of planetary station in one of the progressed charts. In Hilary's case, her P3 Neptune stations in October, just a month before the election. One doesn't normally think of Neptune as favourable for political contests, but in this case it's important to see that it forms an exact trine with P3 Venus. This suggests a positive public projection and displays of affection. P3 Jupiter is also applying to a trine with natal Neptune, another powerfully benefic combination for success in all endeavours. Moreover, there is yet another tight trine between P3 Chiron and P3 Pluto which was exact in the summer and will be just 20 minutes past separation. Another piece of evidence that supports Hilary's election is the inauguration chart of Jan 20, 2009. There is a close conjunction between Venus and Uranus opposed by Saturn. This not only points to surprising or unorthodox women in government -- and Hilary would be the first female president of the US -- but it also suggests the inevitable opposition that her administration would no doubt incur from her enemies on the Right. It's possible that the Venus-Uranus conjunction in this chart might just as well suggest Condi Rice as president since she has been widely rumoured as a possible candidate, but I don't think her chart is very strong in November 2008. So at this point, I believe Hilary Clinton is most likely to win the presidency in 2008. I will refine this prediction as her correct birth time becomes clear and there is a horoscope for a Republican opponent to which hers can be compared. Iraq There has been much talk of late about the possibility of Iraq descending into civil war. Certainly, the 2004 Iraqi horoscope shows a serious affliction to 12th house Mars by retrograde Saturn that will continue to cause greater than usual expressions of violence for the next couple of months. While conditions may be bad, I don't believe there will be an immediate descent into total anarchy. However, there is some cause for concern at the time of the Uranus station in June/July that falls exactly on the descendant of this new Iraq chart. This intensification of energy combined with Rahu's aspect to natal 12th house Mars suggests that this early summer period is likely to feature the greatest outbreak of violence and disorder. This is the time to expect new dimensions in this ongoing conflict to manifest. This timing scenario is supported by the 1932 Iraq chart as the nodes aspect the 8L Saturn around this time as well. The picture gets no better going forward as a tertiary progressed Saturn station occurs opposite Neptune at the end of 2006, in November and December. This points to an event of significant loss and hardship, especially combined with the fact that P3 Mars conjoins natal Mercury and IC. This looks like a serious escalation of a conflict already more or less out of control. It's hard to imagine how much worse the war can get short of organized sectarian militias, involvement by neighbouring countries, or the use of new kinds of weaponry. If there was a time for a bonafide civil war, this would be it. Mail Use Photomail to share photos without annoying attachments.
Guest guest
Thanks for this, Chris. Yes, I printed your post out to keep in my " Current Predictions " folder. I'll be watching... I vaguely remember that I preferred a morning time of birth for Hillary, but I think it was around 8:00 a.m. When there's time I'll have to pull out my Hillary file. Guest guest
OK Therese. I'm still giving myself a little wiggle-room on this one until I get her birth time straight. Of course, seeing who the Republicans put forward will also seal the deal. Although I'm still unsure about her exact time, I do think a Libra rising chart is most likely. This would have Venus dasha starting in the mid to late nineties and running until 2015 or later. Not only is Venus in its own sign in the natal chart, but more importantly, its in Taurus in the D10 chart. This fits with the overal trajectory of her career since her election to the Senate in 2000. Chris therese hamilton <eastwest wrote: Thanks for this, Chris.
