>To build up any insight of a person, pure astrology is a better medium,

I think this depends on each specific case.

Astrology and psychology are different tools. They are not meant to compete

with each other but to complement each other. Often, for the

astro-psychologist, the use of astrology in a session with his/her client

or patient is a hindrance, and even silly.

Astrologers, in my opinion, are better at diagnosing, but usually make very

lousy therapists. However, there is no reason why a talented practitioner

cannot perfect both abilities.

Astrology is a tool, like a scalpel. It must be used carefully and

discretionally. In the wrong place and at the wrong time, its use during a

session can have a negative effect, and sometimes, it proves to be very

effective in achieving the therapeutic effect desired.

There are bad and good practitioners in every human activity. The problem

is not psychological astrology per se, but the fact that there are lousy,

superficial practitioners of it.

So I think one should be careful when making generalizations.

Astro-psychologists are often silly and untalented, doing more harm than

good, and perhaps the prevailing tendencies that are " in vogue " are

inadequate, but there are some that are very good.

It must be realized that there are different ways in which an

astro-psychologist can use astrology and/or psychology in his or her

practice. There are different ways of approaching a chart, different ways

of conducting a session, and there are different, sometimes incompatible

" schools " in psychology (as there are in astrology, anthropology,

sociology, etc.).

There is not " one " astro-psychology. There are many ways in which it can be

practiced, many approaches to it, there are " schools " and sometimes

conflicting paradigms, there are good astro-psychologists and bad ones. As

with everything, the good ones are a minority.
