Re: Welcome to

Aloha, Siderealists!

I'm new to the group and glad to be aboard. I've been learning

astrology in general (i.e.: tropical) for a few years now and still

consider myself a neophyte in many ways. I'm interested in Western

Sidereal for several reasons.

I'm curious whether avid Siderealists generally prefer Siderealism

because they think of it as more accurate on a predictive basis

(forecasting) or on an interpretitive/psychological basis

(understanding self and others) or both or something else. I'm also

curious how connected to the astrological community at large

Siderealists feel. Is there a Sidereal community to speak of? Do

Siderealists ever gather with Vedic or Tropical astrologers socially?

Also, because Sidereal astrology changes Sun signs for so many people

and the general public knows only their Tropical Sun sign, is it very

difficult as a Sidereal astrologer to explain to non-astrologer

friends and clients why they're not Leos but Cancers?

My Sun is in Pisces in both Tropical and Sidereal astrology yet my

Ascendant changes from Aquarius to Capricorn. I'm not really certain

whether the symbolism of the planets, luminaries and

ascendant/descendant remain the same in Sidereal or whether they have

different meanings. If there's a file or website or book that

addresses this, I'd love to learn more.

Hi Gib

I was searching in my postbox for a siderealist's email -farther back

probably- and read your request. It is quiet on the list now. Everybody

seems to be quite busy with research, or everybody is on vacation as I

noticed in other groups, in my country.

For a Pisces person it is not as difficult to accept the sidereal zodiac

as for a " tropical Aries' becoming e Pisces person, although he becomes

more a whole person in combination with the cultured minded of the Piscean,

the artist and idealist combined with the activity, creativity of the Aries,

when twice as many planets turn into Aries instead of Taurus. Mars in Aries

is better than in Taurus par example.

The Sun in sign shows up the countenance and the weaknesses of the body more

than in the tropical zodiac. It is my experience in sidereal practice, by now.

Tropical books, is my opinion should not be thrown away; expecially not

" Ästrology Its Techniques & Ethics " by C.Aq.Libra a pseudomym

the writer astrologer died in 1968, publishing company is New Castle

Van Nuys, California 91409ISBN0 -87877-P-035-6)

They are still valuable despite it's mode of tropical zodiac.

The book adds much technical information than usually. You would not find

this information easely anywhere else. This book is even more valuable for the

siderealist now; only you need an adaptable mind to convert it all into sidereal

concepts. Of course there are siderealists who have started now to write courses

to teach sidereal astrology. I would be very pleased to read examples of study,

because I learn every day again.

You asked, if tropical astrologers and siderealist meet each other. Tropical

astrologers are as nice to meet as formerly as long as I do not talk about

astrology. Tropicalists seem just blanc sheets.Willingly listening to a Vedic

astrologer (lecture) but retreating afterall in their own mode of astrology.

Probably they fear a change or they fear isolation from fellow astrologers.

Once I heard their use of a technical fallacy, why it is not acceptable for

them as the truth of knowledge. For centuries they are kidding themselves

that the difference in degrees is worth to be neglected, a lady astrologer

wrote me once that. So you may know now why the siderealists inclined to

prefer meeting siderealists although they engaged themselves often into a

discussion again. Our hope never dies.

You will see the difference more and more once you are start converting your

saved charts into sidereal zodiac, The forecasting is not so difficult after

you have learned more from astrology. Starting with the delineation of native's

charts is most interesting and quick to understand.

Regards,

Anny
