February 2005 Monthly Vedic Horoscope

 

General

 

One highlight of the month is the retrograde station of Jupiter on February 2nd

at 24 Virgo. The backward motion of the planet of wisdom and good judgment may

mean that both may be harder to find in the coming weeks. At least, it may take

a little more effort to " take the high road " .

 

Pluto makes its first ingress in Sagittarius on the 8th according to the Lahiri

ayanamsha. Because of retrograde motion, it will take over a year for it to make

the break with Scorpio for good so one can't make too much of this ingress right

now. Nonetheless, natives with strong Sagittarius in their charts will feel

Pluto's transformative intensity eventually.

 

The New Moon on the 8th falls in Capricorn so natives with strong Capricorn

placements can expect to have those triggered in some way in the coming month.

Capricorn ascendants, for example, may embark on new projects or new directions.

 

Valentine's Day brings an unusually appropriate configuration: the conjunction

of Venus and Neptune. Together they are the exact astrological signature for

this celebration of idealized love. Natives will prominent Venus's (and the

signs Taurus and Libra) may be more subject to the rose-coloured glasses

syndrome however, so are best advised to keep one foot on the ground if

possible.

 

ARIES (Apr 13 - May 13) With the passage of your ruling planet Mars into

Sagittarius at the end of January, your fortunes are changing for the better

this month. You may be more preoccupied with 9th house matters such as travel

and religion this month. And since Mars is transiting the nakshatra of Mula,

look for relationship issues to come to the fore as well, although some jarring

surprises may be in store. Career and status should improve in February for you

as everyone wants to know about your work. The real job improvement comes after

Mars enters Purvashada. Expect some excessive energy in your life around the

1st, and some excitement involving older siblings around the 15th.

 

TAURUS (May 14 - Jun 14) Your spirits will likely lift in February as Venus

moves into Capricorn, your 9th house. Besides greater involvement with foreign

matters, you may be doing more writing than usual, as Venus transits Shravana.

The second half of the month may have a different feel to it, however as Venus

enters Mars-ruled Dhanista. Expect higher spending and some awkward or

embarrassing situations to throw you off your stride from time to time. Careful

not to let your idealism or fantasies go too far around the 15th as it can cause

conflicts, especially with siblings. You should be in for a bit of good luck

involving foreigners on the 17th.

 

GEMINI (Jun 15 - Jul 15) You'll likely be very focused on money matters in

February as Mercury transits Capricorn, your 8th house (and hence aspects the

2nd). Generally, these efforts should go well as long as you are methodical.

Once Mercury enters Dhanista on the 9th, however, marital issues may divert your

attention. With Mars in the 7th from Gemini this month, there is a possibility

of some conflict with the spouse of business partners. The 14th may be a key

date in this regard. Some unexpected news pertaining to family or a monetary

gain is likely around the 19th.

 

CANCER (Jul 16 - Aug 15) The crowd of planets in your 7th house this month may

mean that marriage and love issues take a more prominent seat than usual in your

life. Jupiter's aspect there should ensure that most of then go smoothly and

bring you happiness. Also, both Mercury and Venus will be transiting through

Moon-ruled Shravana in the middle of the month, so life will be at its best

then. Real estate and communication matters may be highlighted. Watch for news

from siblings on the 7th, and an ideal expression of love on the 14th. Happy

LEO (Aug 16 - Sep 15) February should be an above average month for you as your

ruling planet the Sun is assisted by the presence of transiting Mercury and

Venus. These benefic influences will bring constructive activity and pleasure

into your life, especially around the middle of the month when the transits are

closest. The Sun's transit through Dhanista from the 5th to the 18th may

introduce some problems involving children. Money may come from a foreign source

on the 14th. The second half of the month should be favourable for travel and

study as Sun enters Satabisha. Watch for something nice to pop up around the

24th.

 

VIRGO (Sep 16 - Oct 16) As Mercury leaves the fortuitous company of Venus,

Virgos may have to come back down to earth this month. Things should start out

alright in the first week while Mercury is still in Shravana and the 5th house,

but after it enters Dhanista on the 9th, there will be shift of energy turning

inward and an erratic flow of events that may leave you unsatisfied. With the

conjunction with 12th lord Sun near the 14th, you may find yourself paying more

than you'd liked for Valentine's gifts. And remember gratefulness is not

guaranteed. A domestic difference of opinion may surface on the 22nd. Life

should change for the better after the 24th when Mercury enters Purvabhadra.

 

LIBRA (Oct 17 - Nov 15) You're feeling content with life in the first half of

February and your work is going well as Venus transits Shravana until the 16th.

Valentine's will be kind to you, and you indulge your best romantic thoughts on

that day. Once Venus enters Dhanista on the 17th, your energy levels will

increase as you confront daily challenges. There may be some wrinkles regarding

partners in the second half, but nothing serious. Watch for some unforseen

developments involving investments on the 23rd.

 

SCORPIO (Nov 16 - Dec 14) February should be a mixed bag. Mars in Sagittarius

can bring an optimistic and thoughtful approach to life especially regarding

knowledge and money matters. However, family conflict may erode some of the good

vibes. Also Mars in Mula may create some need for escapism from the world and

there may be a n increase in spending. The 15th and 16th may bring a little

excitement on the home front while the events around the 23rd will enlighten

you.

 

SAGITTARIUS (Dec 15 - Jan 13) The Jupiter retrograde station on the 2nd in your

10th house may have put you in the limelight at work in some significant way.

This increased visibility is likely to continue since Jupiter's nakshatra

dispositor Mars has moved into your first house of recognition. Watch for a

lucky break around the 15th to the 17th in this regard. It should be a great

time for Sagittarians to get ahead. Mars in your first house may also however

increase the likelihood of accidental mishaps of various minor kinds, so take

care when walking on icy sidewalks.

 

CAPRICORN (Jan 14 - Feb 12) A good time for goat people, especially in the first

half of the month. Saturn is still moving backwards through Punarvasu which is

likely to bring good luck generally and a continued interest in foreign and

spiritual matters. Look for good news to come through on the 10th, possibly

involving foreign learning of some kind. And significant results are likely from

the 16th to the 19th as your 10th lord Venus is aspected by Jupiter and Saturn.

 

AQUARIUS (Feb 13 - March 13) This is a good time for behind the scenes

investigative and charity work with social outcasts otherwise you may be beset

with losses. Saturn is still retrograde in Punarvasu and therefore research into

hidden knowledge could be well rewarded in time. Seclusion and a desire for

quiet may be uppermost in your mind. While Venus is still in the 12th, you may

be preoccupied with sexual thoughts, especially those of a secret or forbidden

nature. Valentine's Day may involve motels at the edge of town. Look for a

return to a more normal profile for you after the 22nd when Venus moves into

your 1st house.

 

PISCES (March 14 - Apr 12) Career and status are likely to improve this month as

Mars moves into your 10th house. A new job or some commendation is in the cards.

Friends will also figure prominently in the first half of February and may be

instrumental in helping you move ahead. Some good news is coming around the 10th

involving a partner, while monetary gains, especially joint gains, are likely

around the 17th.And if Neptune really is co-ruler of Pisces, then Valentine's

Day should be extremely happy for you as Venus, the planet of love, conjoins
