I'm backtesting Bradley's Solar return book, he talks about the " campanian

house system " which I guess is the same as " Campanus " ??

Does anyone here have any strong opinion on what house system is best ?

Kind regards,

Steinar

into 30 degrees of Prim vertical space, and makes for a clear view of the

Background, Mid ground, Foreground devision of Fagan. But now I am not so sure.At

high latitudes all such systems fail. Though I still use Campanus as a matter of

course.

Hello Steinar,

Yes, Bradley would man the Campanus system. This is the favored house

system among followers of the Fagan school of astrology. I find it a bit

strange that any house system would be preferred by siderealists because

they look at the angles and generally don't consider the intermediate

houses except that planets away from the angles aren't emphasized as much.

But discussion of the Campanus system is best left to those who favor that

house system.

I use the Indian equal house system for topics (not psychology). The equal

cusps are the power points of the houses. I also consider the MC/IC axis,

but not as house cusps.

Talk about a loaded question! There's a discussion on houses and how

astrologers are using them on the young astro list--recommended if you

want to read definite opinions and examples of how the cusps are used. If

you go back and read past posts on that list, there are quite a few on

equal houses, sign-as-house, Poryphory, Placidus, etc.
