I thought that since there was no astronimical event on Jan 1, there should be no useful chart. But after looking into it, I can see I was wrong in that assessment. Check it out for yourself and you will see -- pick years a big events in world history and then blah nothing years for a control. Take a look at 1348 for example. Not a happy chart. It's still fairly general since its locationally indistinct and also only covers the year as a whole.
