Only one problem--the site only keeps an up-to-date list of quakes for one week. >... >The Mars ingress into Scorpio (Fagan) for the exact location shows >Saturn at degree and minute on the 7th cusp, with the Nodes within a >degree of the MC/IC. The nodes are definitely involved as they seem to always be for traumatic events involving many people. If you look at aspects to the angles for the quake, you have Ketu about a degree from the MC with Saturn on the descendant, that is, squaring the angular nodes. There was an interesting article in a recent NCGR electronic memberletter that pointed out that the 'true' nodes are no more true than the mean nodes. The quake chart makes a case for the mean nodes as they are in the same degree as the Moon and closer to the MC/IC axis than the 'true' nodes. (I'll try to find the article.) MC 3 Libra 30 Ketu 4 Libra 49 (true node is 6 04) Moon 4 Gem 22 (Saturn is 1 Cancer 33) (all Krishnamurti) I expect that the Moon's aspect to the nodes pulled in the stress of the Sun's opposition--almost full Moon, and then there was the quincnux of Mars to the Moon. So the Moon would be the focal point of stress which transferred to the angular nodes. Jupiter enters into the picture because it's about five degrees from the zenith point. Neptune is conjunct Theta Capricorn in the tail of the sea goat near the ecliptic, and is supposed to have a malefic influence. But we have a lot to learn because if you put this quake chart into a pile of charts, it wouldn't look all that bad, at least at first glance--unless you consider that Jupiter at the top of the chart is totally malefic. I've seen Jupiter behave very badly in the 10th house--the house of Capricorn. There has to be water in there somewhere, and that's Jupiter and/or Neptune. In the zodiac the Moon is only minutes from Polaris, which according to Robson is a star of sickness, trouble and great affliction. I don't know why the stars of the great bear are said to have a Uranian influence. Polaris is associated with the sea because it was a guide star for sailors. Then again, it wasn't the quake itself that was so traumatic as the tsunami waves which followed. We'd need to look at ingress charts for the individual areas hit by the waves--as you did for Thailand. Therese

Hi Therese, The time for the Mars ingress was: December 18th @ 8:45:33 AM local time (USZ6-7:00) (3N 17 52) (95E 46 44) (Fagan/Bradley) Asc=1Cap08, MC=6Lib32, Saturn=1Can08, Ketu(true node)=5Lib40 > > >The Moon's ingress into Capricorn (Fagan) shows the Moon at the > degree > >of the MC and Nodes at degree of the Asc/Dsc. (USZ6-7:00) Fagan/Bradley Asc=5Aries10, MC=0Cap27, Rahu=5Aris59, Moon=0Cap00, Saturn=1Can22 > > The nodes are definitely involved as they seem to always be for > traumatic > events involving many people. Saturn/Nodes in some configuration seems to be present fairly often when there is a loss of life. The Moon joining this combo can make a deadly trio.
