Dear Bert, John and All

 

Do you see anything good out there? This is a sincere question. I ask this

question because I am ever on the spot to answer the question: why do

astrologers only see the bad stuff? My wise answer is to defend

astrologers. I reply: " Many astrologers only see clients and events from

the lense of difficulty. Because of this, they see the future in terms of

obstacles and suffering not potential. "

 

Please help me understand what lies behind this? Do you really only see the

US and humanity circling the rim of the cosmic toilet?

 

I've been reading astrologers who say that with Saturn crossing the US

Mercury our economy will fail, others say that Jupiter square SAturn is

economic decline and despair. I go online and pull up the time line for

1976 and see the beginning of the personal computer industry. In the UK the

pound was at an all time low...still the UK is still alive.

 

I do understand the fears for the economy. I still swear at Bill Clinton's

name, as he was the president that pushed through free trade with Mexico and

Asia and opened the flood gates for our jobs and send industry dashing to

Asia. Still, I look at history and see that in the midst of what I would

see as devastation there has been a rebirth.

Am I the only astrologer who looks at history rather than fear the future?

 

Are there any optimistic predictions out there Bert? Can you see any light?

Have you ever seen it?

That is a complex question. The short answer is yes and no. In

some areas there are astrological indications that the area will do well

or that there will be a time of peace and prosperity. In others there

are strong indications that the area will be in for greater or lesser

difficulty, whither from natural disaster or man made folly. On the

whole, the last

few years have seen the ingresses show a mixed bag. Unfortunate, the good

lines seem to be mixed in with the bad so as to make even the best areas

less then ideal. On the other hand, the mix of benefice with malefic does

seem to mitigate the latter somewhat.

The answer is that there are good times and bad times in various

places. It is the astrologer's duty to report both and give the client

the maximum amount of actionable intelligence, in order to take

informed course. This is as true in my political mundane work as in the

personal lives of my privet clients. I am a big believer in " Fore Warned

is fore armed. Unfortunately we seem to be living in an age where the

malifics are making a stronger statement then are the benifics. We

astrologers see what we see and we report what we see.

There are ages of peace and contentment, and then there are ages of

turbulence and discontent. They come and go, as indicated by the

planetary cycles. This happens to be one of those times of perturbation

and discord. Half a millennium ago,was another such age, and there were

astrologers then who saw the pattern of unfoldment. It is the job of the

mundane astrologer to see and to tell. If that means being a latter day

Jeremiah, then so be it. We are called by the times we live in.

I think that the economy is going to take some heavy hits. The

Saturn to which Mercury in what chart? Saturn/Mercury does seem to slow

down and suppress all things mercantile. But as for Jupiter/Saturn, it is

generally read as slow steady growth.

Yes, that is the remarkable thing. Life does go forward, and people do

carry on, as they always have.

The policy makers in the Clinton's White house were short sighted, but

they were conditioned by the times and by the liberal philosophy of the

times. Clinton should have remembered and taken more seriously his own

motto,

" It's the Economy Stupid! "

Amide the chaos and destruction, there is always rebirth. That is

the nature of life. After great forest Fires, some species of

pines cast out their seeds and start the process anew, then and only

then, after the destructive fire. That should be an instructive image.

Here again the answer is not a simple one. The short answer is yes

and no. There is optimism but only to a limited degree and only for a

time. In my 2005 Ingress report I have the following to say:

 

 

" Once again there seems little cause for optimism during this ingress

year. Most of the malefic fall in areas of Geo-political importance,

while the benefices fall outside significant power-centers, or if they

do fall near political or economic centers, they do so in combination

with the malefic, effectively modifying their effects. It is another

Little comfort I know,at a season when our thoughts should turn to

peace and

rejoicing. But I am afraid that is my somber assessment of the

situation, as a mundane Astrologer, as I see it

If you like history and are concerned over the economy there is a book I

would like to reccomend:

 

" The Great Wave: Price Revolutions and the Rhythm of History "

by David Hackett Fischer

 

This is a non-astro book written by a history professor, but reading the

book with an astrologers eye makes it very interesting.

 

Fischer describes 4 periods of alternating inflation and price-stability

since the 12th century. He furthermore shows that price stability

coincides with prosperity and peace, whereas inflation coincides with war,

crime and declining population growth. His 4 periods are of unequal lenght

so he names them " waves " rather than " cycles " . The time span varies from

80 to 180 years. What I'm getting at here is that the falling inflation

rate since the 90's MIGHT be interpreted as a new 100year period of

price-stability & peace approaching.

 

Personally I don't thinks so, but I'm trying to give you a postive straw

to grasp at. :-)

 

The professor himself does not conclude, he claims no predictive abilty.

 

It's 552 pages, but half of it is the appendix (well researched..)

The appendix is worth reading in itself though.
