Guest guest
Dear Andrew: I think that's partially why God created a scientific age, so we could learn how to reconcile differences in Philosophy, subjective view points, even mysticism... I remember so clearly reading about all the ideas that people 'held' pre-science, and no wonder nature said...'whoaaaaaaa'..... we've got to do something here.... hehhee Good points you make, thanks for the thoughts re. Arabian Astrology too. I think that's why I've loved studying the actual movements of the stars, via. the 'transits', because after a few months, you can so very clearly 'experience' so many of the Astrological ideas. take care Mark Kincaid " kyuseiki " <kyuseiki Fri, 22 Oct 2004 15:01:47 -0000 2-Andrew, & All, > Mark Kincaid....Re: Astrology/astrologers, & 'Mysticism'....1 , Mark Kincaid <m.kincaid@m...> wrote: > In fact, in the Vedic tradition, which is the ultimate authority for Eastern > Astrology or Jyotish, all of the principles, rules and ideas are due to the > 'consciousness cognitions' of vedic Seers, who were purported to be able to > see into the nature of Being, and cognize, directly the truths of the ved. On the origins of Vedic astrology please see: http://accessnewage.com/articles/astro/rhist3.htm On Ibn 'Arabi and astrology please see: http://www.yeatsvision.com/Mansions.html N.B.: 'Ibn 'Arabi's...cosmos gives a theoretical explanation of the tropical system of the Zodiac, placing the Towers of the Zodiac in the Sphere of the Starless Sky, above that of the Sphere of the Fixed Stars, and below the Sphere of the Divine Pedestal and the Sphere of the Divine Throne. Effectively he, therefore, gives the equinoxes precedence over the precession of the stars, and ties the First Point of Aries to the Vernal Equinox, which is seen as closer to the first movers than the 'fixed' stars.' Not all mystics share the same vision or arrive at the same conclusion....but that's mysticism for you! Andrew " How can Pluto be in Sagittarius when it's so close to Antares?
