Guest guest
juan: whoa. applying and separating *plus* approaching and departing. i've just started becoming familiar with apply/sep though i've been recommended their use for some time. i'd never even heard of approaching and departing until you mentioned it. doing some research i find the terms waxing and waning* seem to be similar to the difference between applying and approaching as you define them. in other words, applying/waxing is a faster body moving into aspect with a slower body (having an earlier degree). and approaching/waning is a faster body moving out of aspect with the slower body (having a later degree). however, i thought the latter description is what a separating aspect was so now i'm a little befuddled. and by the time we throw departing aspects in, i'm def. at a lost. perhaps separating=slower body moving into exact aspect with a faster body & departing=slower body moving away from exact aspect with a faster body? but then that just seems like another way to describe the same relationships that applying and approaching describe. i can tell i'm floating way off-base here...please illuminate. :-P *michael meyer's 'a handbook for the humanistic astrologer' -paola
