Hi Terese,

No, I don't have degrees in research and statistics. I have never

heard of a " research degree. " My BA is in journalism and my minors

are accounting and religion. Journalism degrees of the modern kind

always involve a class on polling and statistics. Trust that I have

done my good share of research in my days.

As for the statistics, your sampling was faulty on a number of

counts, as I will list:

1) No control group (meaning that you offered no charts with other

Moon/Mars aspects to see if the same kins of people might show up);

2) Too few examples (what statistical group has only 13 candidates?

What college teaches that??) from a database that is selective;

3) The examples cited are accompanied by basically NO data on the

individual, but instead useless brief synopses of the lives that

offer us no real insights into the life;

4) No other astrological data to show how the Moon/Mars was

moderated by other planets (Jupiter in aspect for the subjects you

think had good lives), which would be of prime importance seeing as

you agreed with Alfonso's assessment that Planets trump signs in

delineation;

5) Overly simplistic criteria to begin with;

6) Vague and unconcrete definitions of what constitues what.

This list is not exhaustive, either. To see how a proper study is

done, see " Signs of Mental Illness " by Gibson.

I do too (in

So, you had a class or two on statistics!?! You must have been

sleeping through class.

Which disqualifies the study immediately.

Err, why?? The study is simply a " planet in signs " study, so orb is

not of concern (like the Vedic you practice).

.....Oh, and a

LOL!! Glad you left that one out.

Incorrect. See the Gibson book.

I don't understand this sentence at all.

I wonder what he would say about your list in comparison to a

professinal statistician. I love Lois Rodden dearly, but invoking

the name of Mark McDonough to justify your study is a rather obvious

straw man.

'Twould be a waste of my valuable time, as I don't have 1200 charts

to dig through, nor the desire to prove something that doesn't make

the prima facie case for reasonableness or .

What is not understood here is that exaltations are based upon a

particular historical chart that has long lost its relevance.

Such a poor assertion on your part that such " research " is not only

valid, but valuable for me! I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot

astrolabe.

Warmest regards,
