I'm a new member of this list so thought I would send out this first post

to see if I have the address right! (The reply I got to my request for

admission to the list does not specifically state to what address

rs should send their posts). I'm assuming this is the right address.

 

A BRIEF introduction (in case this isn't the address!):

 

I am 51 years old, a male. Have been studying astrology since 1971.

Deeply impressed with the Humanistic Astrology of Dane Rudhyar. Have often

felt something was wrong with the kind of astrology that we practice here

in this age. But didn't know what might be the cause of the seeming problem.

 

I have considered Sidereal Astrology in the past. That is I investigated

it somewhat. The Tropical " apologists " convinced me that Sidereal was not

credible, for reasons I won't go into here. I am however interested in

learning more from those who DO believe Sidereal the best. And, I was

surprised that Vedic Astrology does use the Sidereal approach.

 

My birth data: July 3, 1948 at Tyler, Texas. Approximately 2:30 a.m. C.S.T.

This gives in the Tropical System ca. 28-29 Taurus rising with Moon 25

Taurus. Sun Cancer of course. Stellium in 28-29 Gemini involv. Merc.,

Venus and Uranus.

 

How far off is the Tropical from the Sidereal now? How many degrees of

zodiac. longitude? I'm certain that Sidereal would move me back into Sun

in Gemini. But think the late Gemini stellium is still in Gemini. As

would be the Moon and rising in Taurus.

 

Any suggestions for books on the subject would be appreicated. Anyway, all
