Hello, everyone.

First, pardon my cross-posting, but. . .

I've been reading a book on midpoints and harmonics called _Working with

Astrology_ and I'm finding both midpoints and harmonics totally fascinating.

MIdpoints definitely shed light on charts that " don't make sense, " and

further illuminate those that do. For example, everyone I've found with a

planetary ruler on their Sun-Moon midpoint will act like the sign that planet

rules, regardless of their sun sign in either Tropical or Sidereal zodiac.

I've even found an alternative to finding a planet's longitude in a given

harmonic. Rather than multiplying the planet's natal longitude by the

harmonic, and then repeatedly subtracting 360 until you've got a value below

360, as _Working with Astrology_ suggests, instead try this:

1) Convert the longitude to 360* format, and turn the minutes into a decimal.

Add the degrees to the decimal. (Example: 02 Sco 15 = 212.25)

2) Divide the longitude by 360/(the number of the harmonic). (Example: You

want the fifth harmonic of a Sun at 02 Sco 15. Instead of multiplying 212.25

by 5, divide it instead by 72; 212.25/72 = 2.9479166)

3) Subtract the whole number from the real number, and then multiply the

fraction by 360. (2.9479166 - 2 = 0.9479166. 0.9479166 x 360 = 341.25. This

is the same result you'd get if you mutliplied 212.25 by 5 and kept

subtracting 360 until you got a number less than 360.)

4) Convert the decimal fraction back to minutes by multiplying by 60. (0.25 x

60 = 15; 341.25 = 341* 15', or 11 Pis 15, the 5th harmonic of 2 Sco 15)

Having shared that with you, and discovering that John Addey's _Harmonic

Astrology_ is out of print, does anyone know of any good books on harmonic

astrology that are still in print?

Thanks,

Kevin/Baraka
