Guest guest
Sidereal astrology (to me) is not an alternative to tropical astrology so much as a specialty in its own right. In fact, I would classify sidereal astrology with astronomy. They only diverge over the little matter of prognostication -- where sidereal and tropical are joined at the hip, so to speak. But if you keep your divination to yourself, you and an astronomer can talk indefinitely. An astronomer will not balk at the self-evident " proof " of geometric aspects. The time intervals alone between returns are humbling. And, finally, to actually witness a significant celestial event eliminates any misunderstand between astronomer and astrologer. For this reason I try to observe events. I watched the moon rise during daylight today. Viewing conditions were good. I have a website that posts viewing conditions, like a weather page. I copied the link for New York, below. You might search the site for your location. Another hyperlink on this site goes to a topographic mapping site. I checked the latitude and longitude I was using against a map which prints coordinates by street. The latitude I was using was off by 8 " and the longitude was off by 44 " . http://cleardarksky.com/c/NYCNYkey.html (BH)
