Sir, Continuing with the thread, I have a query: Of the eight categories of upaya mentioned, can these be turned around ie. can a planet distanced by an upaya be brought back or a planet that is destroyed by burial, be retrieved. With warm regards Bobbyvarun_trvd <varun_trvd wrote: Dear Bhullar ji,Broadly speaking upaya can be categorized into EIGHT groups. Some scholars might be devising a couple of their own forms

also.Form # 1 :Destroying the planet for the year. This form is used if a planet is badly placed and has to be got rid off as a last resort. This is done by burying the karak of the planet in a barren place. For example venus is very badly placed then it is advised that a little jowar { millets } be buried in a barren place.A planet once destroyed can not be retrieved for that year. Therefore one has to be careful about this upaya.Form # 2 :Distancing a planet :This upaya is also commonly known as ‘sending the planet to the 4th house’. This is done by immersing a karak object of the planet in running water like a river. For example if the Mars is badly placed then it is advised that a little rewari { a sweet made of til + gur } be immersed in a river.Form # 3 :Changing the character of the planet from malefic to benefic: For example the Rahu in the 5th is

badly placed , then it is advised that a small solid silver toy elephant be kept at home immersed in ganga jal or rain water.Form # 4Establish a beneficial planet :This is done to balance the Kundali. Suppose the moon is a beneficial planet in the kundali, in order to take the maximum advantage of moon it is advised to keep a handful of rice in the North East corner of the house. If the rice is gifted by the mother, all the better.Form # 5 Establishing a friend between two enemy planets:If there are two mutually enemy planets placed in a house if a friend is established between them, the hostility diminished. For example if Saturn and the sun are placed in the 6th house if we establish mercury , a friend of both, the hostility between the san and the Saturn will be diminished. Therefore keep a little sabut moong in an earthen pot either in the basement or in the south.Form #

6Making a planet swear to be good :This is done by offering the karak object of the planet at a temple. It is believed that we make the planet to swear in the presence of God to behave. If Mars is badly placed in the 8th, if we offer the karak object of Mars at any temple, we would make Mars swear that it will behave.Form # 7 The maleficity of a planet to be consumed by its own karak :If the mercury is misbehaving then it is advised to give sabut moong { mercury } to a goat { mercury} for eating. It is believed that once the goat eats the sabut moong it will after consuming the malefic aspect of the mercury will expel it as droppings.Form # 8Making use of the masnuee { artificial component } part of a planet:Instead of using any of the above forms, at times it is advisable to do the upaya of one of the masnuee { artificial component } parts. For example if the Jupiter is

badly placed in the 10th house it is advised to drop into a river a copper coin each day for 43 days regularly. The logic is that of the two masnuee components of Jupiter venus would be quite comfortable in the 10th house, the house of her beloved Saturn. It is the Sun which will be depressed in that enemy house. Therefore if the Sun component of Jupiter is taken away it will be relieved, hence dropping copper coins in a river.Regards,Varun Trivedi , "akbhullar2710" <akbhullar2710 wrote:>> Sirs,> > some times a thing is asked to be dropped in a river, and at times > given to a temple or placed in the house.> Sir, what is the difference in these forms of upaya and their logic.> > With respect> > AK
