More on Kerry from SAMVA

Here is the early predictive post by Thor Thorgeirsson from the SAMVA

site. 'MEP' stands for 'most effective point' (of a house). This is the

degree of the ascendant in each sign-as-house. Strength is given to a

planet if it's within 5 degrees of the MEP point. 10L (etc.) means the lord

of a house (here the 10th).

I didn't know anything about this 'Systems Approach' until the recent post

on the Rodden site. I don't mean to turn the sidereal site into a Vedic

site, but only wanted to show the methods by which one astrologer pointed

out Kerry as the likely Democratic nominee in January.

(...) means that sentences have been left out for this post. The SAMVA site

seems to have a lot of cooperative discussion of actual astrology without

personal attacks against those who disagree (from my limited reading since

discovering the site yesterday).

> I am looking at the 12 Scorpio rising chart for John Kerry. As far

as I know this is a confirmed birth time for him. However, we also

know recorded birth times can be off.

>

> One dilemma is that the typical Scorpio tends to be short and

powerfully built, but Kerry is tall and of lanky build...One thing that

resonates,

however, is that he is an avid sportsman and was awarded all kinds

of honors for bravery in action in the Vietnam war while serving in

a leadership role.

>

> One thing that jumps out of this chart is that the Sun and Moon,

the royal planets are prominent and in opposition. The 10L Sun is

in slightly old age [toward the end of the sign]

in Scorpio and ascendant. This makes the man career minded...

>

> The close mutual aspect of the Royal planets, Sun and Moon, as

also lords of 10H and 9H, is a first rate Raja Yoga [planetary combintion]

for political power, albeit the yoga is somewhat weakened. Also 2L Jupiter is

placed in 10H. Kerry has always been prominent in public life but

never " the leader " in Congress. He, however, aspires to be the

leader. As the Sun is in the ascendant, this is helpful, but it is

not the classic yoga for political power, with the Sun on the 1 MEP

itself...

>

> Kerry is in the powerful dual [Dasa and sub-period] period of Mercury.

His hopes and

income would have a positive impact on his status...

>...

>

> Based on this chart Kerry certainly has a shot at the nominaton.

The problem is that Dean and Edwards also have good charts. This

makes it very hard to call the race. However, Kerry seems to have a

stronger yoga for political power with 10L Sun in ascendant aspected

by 9L Moon, with Mercury on 2H and 2L Jupiter in 10H...

> I´m starting to think, Kerry has a real shot at the nomination.

What do you think?

> The Democratic Primary season is now in full swing. Birth data has

been found for the five major candidates, giving a basis for

analysis...

>

> I did perfunctory readings of the charts of Gephardt and Clark in

November 2003 and those of Dean, Edwards and Kerry this month

(January 2004). I have now taken additional time to review the

charts and reflect on their relative merits...

>

> The salient methodology is to focus on major factors offering

promise in the birth chart for political power (the right man). This

follows ´s theorem and is borne out by my

experience as the single biggest factor. I then see what the period

and transit influences running suggest about the chart potential

being realised (the right time).
