Guest guest
hmmm maybe joystick anonymous? Actually Lynn.... my first suggestion is to note the differences between the various " sidereal " astrologies discussed in this group. It can be challenging to understand us at times because the members here are not uniform in the way we calculate or delineate charts. So ask questions.... and I strongly suggest you download sidereal.zip and start reading..... What part of Oregon are you in? Would like to seriously study it now and have the time. Any advice re: rookie books would be very welcome as well as any online courses you could recommend (live in the toolies in Oregon and there would not be much educational opportunity in my region, I fear). PS, rec'd a new reading from an online source......it's absolutely incomprehensible to me...I'm either brilliant or stupid, attractive or butt ugly, very moral/spiritual or some sort of a loose woman/con artist :-)...sigh TIA, RL " How can Pluto be in Sagittarius when it's so close to Antares? Guest guest
Hi lynn You are just in time. My dear friend has just self-published a wonderful (the best that I've seen and I've seen lots)beginner Vedic astrology book. It really bridges the gap between western student and this often very confusing and naturally foreign study. Go to her web site www.galacticcenter.org You can say I sent you. It really is a well done book and full of carefully written lessons from her courses. BTW he name is Joni Patry happy studies cynthia rookielynn [rookielynn] Monday, July 12, 2004 2:21 PM Intro- GREEN Have been a jyotish (sidereal?) believer for some years now (when my one and only jyotish reading actually identified me to a T as opposed to tropical astrology). Guest guest
Cynthia, I hope she suppressed the rush it gives to show off in Sanskrit and translated those terms once and for all into limpid English. Like moolatrikona = special field. Eh? Dark*Star ----------------------- cynthianovak wrote: > Hi lynn > You are just in time. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, ACVA (now the American College of Vedic Astrology) has just started an on-line course in Vedic astrology. One of my clients is doing this and finds it quite good. Here is a link: http://www.Vedic Astrology.org/certification12.htm David Frawley also has a home study course in Vedic (probably less expensive) listed in the above link and there are other Vedic astrologers listed there as well. Here is a site listing many classes are courses in both Vedic and Tropical: http://www.astrodatabank.com/AstrologyCourses.htm I'm planning on moving to the Ashland, Or. area in the next few months (from Los Angeles) and will probably be setting up classes of some sort up there (if there is enough interest in that area).
