Astronomical Reality versus Astrological Myth

Baraka, Beloved of our Lady and Lord,

Oddly enough, the Hebrew name that I had to take to keep people in my class

from stumbling over " Laurence " lo these thirty-odd years ago was " Barak. "

How did you come to choose " Lightening " as a witchy name ?

I have always " written off " astrology as, at best, pseudo science, and at

worst something on the other side of superstitution, because of its utter

failure to take into account the effects of the Precession of the Equinoxes

(Yes, I know, by rights it should be " Equinoces, " but the time-honored term

in astronomy (mis-)uses the form " Equinoxes " )(rather akin to the

Brontosaurus/Apatosaurus controversy, what ?).

Of late, I have gotten into a one-on-one dialogue with Jewel St. Michael

(who referred me to your list) on just this point, and the consensus of

opinion was that " the world isn't ready for this, yet. "

Glad to see that you think that it is.

Blessed Be !

Bat
