Hi - my name's Chris Mitchell, and although I teach tropical astrology, I'm

interested in learning more about other systems including sidereal astrology

as practiced in the West, and Vedic.

I'm 43, live in Bristol in the UK and look forward to reading the posts here

and sharing insights.

Chris.

To take an actual example Charles Joseph Whitman, who is sentenced to

lifelong prison: born in Lake Worth Florida 24 june 1941 1.50.00 AM

80.00 West 03'26 26.36'56 " North EST + 5.00.00

For instance you could see the difference in Longitude of the fixed stars

between tropical and sidereal.

For instance you could see the difference in the yearharmonic 25.10277778

(the time of the murders) and the yearharmonic 62.36666667 for 6 nov 2003

(year - 5' par month and 10 " par day) tropical and sidereal.

Instead of printing the aspectlines I put in the radixplanets mid-in circle.

The two year-harmonics have a close connection with each other. Libra is

conjunct MC at the trial/admittance (diurnal) the Ascendant then has a close

connection with the " murder-chart " . Secondair it is also interesting.

On this group somebody once told what is the big difference in longitude

between the tropical longitue of the fixed stars and the sidereal.(more

exact technically) That is why in early times astrologers were better in

making prognoses. I have a program " Janus " which also produces text for

the fixed stars conjunct the planetes in the birth chart).

I am quite glad that a teacher astrology is willing to study the sidereal

zodiac, because practicing astrologers do not dare to take the risk of

change, while they are in awe always of my sidereal delineation for them.

I never understand why they hesitate to take the step. I experimented for

a month in the family and practice study with old charts and actual events

at the newsreal. It is a relevation!

You could serve two different charts side by side at the lesson and test

your pupils knowledge of astrology. You will see they 'll seize the

sidereal chart as the right chart.

Test George Bush's relocated birth chart or Blair's chart and you will

understand under which pressure they are.

I should admit, that I favor the use of the TransNeptuner points at times,

because they are so prominent conjunct MC or Ascendant at times of disaster

such as the WTC disaster in september 2001 and now the war in Iraq (socalled

teh Uranian Astrology. Zeus, the planet of war/soldiers is actually conjunct

the MidHeaven of USA chart for quite a time. (very slowly moving forth)

Succes with your study! Regards Anny

Hello! My name is Lisa. I just found and join this group right now. I

started looking at the astrology behind my chart back in 1995 & 1996.

Obsessively reading bits and pieces here and there I pretty much only

came away with making up my own buzz words. I also began doing an

embarrassing amount of meditation at that time.

Hi Lisa! quite a good exercise to improve your astrology knowledge

in depth. Regards, Anny. Welcome!

Greetings to Chicago and to Ophra Winfrey! Sometimes I watch her

program. Quite interesting!

Succes with your study! It is a lifetime interesting relevation

of humanity! It changed my spirit I hope someone can explain jyottish

astrology. " The yottish list " was interesting. My first connection

with sidereal groups, but I lost their address. Several dates exchanged

from all over the world. The best inside information after news.

Now I am happy with this group. Most Western sidereal astrologers

are interested in vedic astrology since there are more publications.

Formerly the vedic astrology is transmitted from father to son in

early times. Since I value the study of Uranus and Neptune etc and

most of the Vedic mode is in sanscriet, I consider Vedic bound to

an Indian culture. Maybe if we ever could offer our experience with

these trans Saturnian planetes ????? such as Cheiron now. I would

not dare to decide about its influence, but I watch Chiron in

actual figures. For the rest vedic astrology in delineation is not

so much different as far as concerned the first seven planetes.

Many thanks, Anny!

Interesting point about fixed stars - a particular interest of mine.

I've recently abandoned the concept of using fixed stars projected onto the

ecliptic - a system which doesn't seem logical (regardless of whether you

use the sidereal or tropical zodiac). Saying that Regulus is " in Leo " does

make sense - it's pretty much on the ecliptic and so using the sidereal

zodiac we can say it's at about 5 Leo (tropical almost 30 Leo).

However - what about, say, Dubhe? My astrology software says it's at 20

Cancer sidereal (15 Leo tropical) - but it's not. It's nowhere *near*

Cancer. True - if you " project " its position onto the ecliptic, it ends up

at 20 Cancer, but that's like saying I live in Ghana (I actually live in the

UK) because the longitude of the UK and Ghana happens to be the same.

I use Bernadette Brady's method of " parans " for fixed stars. If Dubhe

happens to be culminating on the day of my birth at the same time that Mars

is rising, then there's a connection between Mars and Dubhe called a

" paran " - although a chart won't show this connection.

In my own chart, according to tropical astrology I have Moon at 24 Libra,

Jupiter at 2 Cap and Saturn at 17 Cap. If I switch to sidereal, I get Moon

30 Virgo (29Vir53 according to my software, but I suppose this depends

precisely what ayanamsa is used), Jupiter at 7 Sag, Saturn at 23 Sag. My Sun

remains in Pisces (1 degree sidereally), and my Ascendant remains in Leo (3

Leo). Now, I can definitely relate to the idea of Moon in Virgo for me

rather than Libra (though I can see *some* arguments for Moon in Libra).

However, I feel my Saturn is very strong - my Saturn return was a fabulous

year for me, with extra promotion and a pay rise and lots of holidays, and

not remotely traumatic. My Jupiter returns have not generally been happy

times. Now - I can see that " lots of foreign holidays " on my Saturn return

has a Sagittarian flavour - but according to tropical astrology, my Saturn

is well placed in the sign he rules (Capricorn), and Jupiter badly placed in

his fall (Capricorn). In sidereal terms, my Saturn in Sag wouldn't be the

best placement, but Jupiter in Sag is excellent. So taking the simplistic

viewpoint - if I perceive " Saturn good, Jupiter bad " that would indicate the

tropical zodiac fits me better, if I perceive " Jupiter good, Saturn bad "

that would indicate the sidereal zodiac is a better fit. I have to say I do

tend to perceive " Saturn good, Jupiter bad " in my own chart - so I can see

the sidereal zodiac working better in some cases (eg my Moon), and the

tropical in others (my Jupiter and Saturn).

However, I may well be missing something here.

If anyone is interested, my birth data is: 15 March 1960, 15:25GMT, Windsor

United Kingdom. 0W35, 51N28. Asc: 3Leo25 (sidereal), Sun: 0Pis52 (sidereal).

Chris.
