Not true, as a child in my family has recently been diagnoses with ADHD. It's very obvious what the behavioral pattern is. > But diet has proved useful. Parents have been threatened with jail or losing their children if they don't embrace Ritalin. You're a little behind in your information, D*S. As I've observed, children can inmprove their learning and behavior (toned down wildness and hysteria) with the new Stratera (spelling?). Sure, the drug companies take advantage of the situation by charging astronomical prices for their drugs. Ritalin is pretty well out as a drug of choice for ADHD. Just recently there was a big spread on adult ADD in U.S. News and World Report. I've observed that children with ADHD do much better if they can be out in nature for a time each day--lots of exercise and connection with the open-air vibes. But the disorder is real and not invented. The brain synapses don't work the way they should. Check out the new U.S. News article. It was within the last few weeks. Libraries will have the mag. Maybe so, but since I have direct experience of ADD and ADHD in my own family, I can recognize the symptoms quite easily. I don't need a doctor to show me how an ADD or ADHD person thinks and behaves. I also have observed first hand what helps these symptoms and what doesn't. If you have personally worked in the medical field and experienced or observed the ADD syndrome, then you have a lot to base your opinions or insight on. Otherwise....where do these opinions and/or insight come from? Therese
