Marilyn Monroe was born on June 1, 1926, at 9:30 AM PST in Los Angeles,

CA (34 N 03, 118 W 15).

 

Marilyn has Saturn as the focal point of a T-Square; the opposing planets are

the Moon and Neptune. Moon-Saturn aspects are often signs of susceptibility

to depression; Neptune, being the ultra-subjective, fantasy planet, will only

make this worse. Note that the Moon and Neptune are also in foreground areas,

being closer to angles than to the succedent house cusps. (Other foreground

planets include the Venus-Chiron conjunction, which also trines Black Moon

Lillith.)

Saturn also forms a Grand Trine with Mars (ugh) and the North Node (double

ugh!)

 

In her Sidereal Solar Return for 1962 (3:59:59PM, PDT, Los Angeles, CA), Mars

is in a foreground area, approaching the Descendant. It also trines SSR

Pluto, the natal Black Moon Lillith, and conjuncts the natal Venus-Chiron

conjunction. It's as if Mars were litterally attacking and bringing down

Marilyn's beauty, femininity, and ability to heal herself. The SSR Sun trines

a Saturn-South Node conjunction and squares Pluto, making the individual

vulnerable to things Saturnian and Plutonian. Using the SSR house cusps, the

natal Moon-Saturn-Neptune T-Square, along with the natal Mars and Uranus, all

make aspects to angles. The SSR Neptune also forms a T-Square to Saturn and

the North Node, opening Marilyn's imagination to dark, depressing thoughts.

 

On July 13, 1962, at 1:37:04PM PDT, the transiting Sun made a novile to

Marilyn's natal sun. A chart drawn up for that time, with Los Angeles as the

location, will show what issues Marilyn would face for the next forty days

(this type of chart is called an ennead). Saturn and the Nodes are in the

foreground, and the T-Square they form with Neptune remains tight. Mars

sextiles the Midheaven, and squares Venus and Uranus. Pluto inconjuncts the

Saturn-South Node conjunction. Using the ennead cusps, the natal Venus-Chiron

conjunction continues its approach toward the Descendant while forming a

trine to the ennead Venus-Uranus conjunction.

 

For her final Sidereal Lunar Return (July 18, 1962, 10:49:14PM, PDT, Los

Angeles, CA), SLR Black Moon Lillith is approaching the Descendant and

squaring the Midheaven. Natal Mars and Uranus surround the SLR Ascendant,

indicating doom, darkness, and upheaval. Less than two weeks later, Marilyn

was dead.

Please comment on the following analysis on Marilyn Monroe's Chart.

 

Norma Jean / Marilyn Monroe

 

Ascendent: (Cancer)

In Ashelsa, the Nakshatra of the 3rd and 12th Lord. Ascednant is

aspected by Lagna Lord Moon 4th shadbala.

Lagna Lord Moon is placed in Dhanishta a Martian Nakshatra. The sign

dispositor of moon, is Saturn is highly inauspicious (7th and 8th

Lord). Saturn is only 6th in shadbala and cuspally positioned. Moon

in boxed in between ketu and Jupiter (6th and 9th Lord). Jupiter is

considered a functional benefic for cancer ascendant. The lagna lord

is afflicted as it is disposited by the malefic saturn. The aspect of

the Lagna Lord on the Lagna is strengthening.

 

Sun is conjunct the inauspicious vargottama 3rd and 12th Lord

Mercury. Sun is also aspected by Mars and partially by Saturn (the

cuspal position of Saturn taken into consideration). Sun is also

afflicted.

 

Lagna, Moon (both being the same) and Sun are all afflicted.

 

 

4th house (libra):

 

Though there are no occupants, the cuspally positioned Saturn is

Retrograde and therefore exerts considerable influence on the 4th

house. Saturn is 5th in shadbala. Venus, the 4th Lord aspects the 4th

house and therefore stengthens it. Venus's position in the 10th house

generates Amala Yoga. The 4th house is considerably strengthened.

Though the natural significator of the mind Moon is afflicted as

explained earlier, it does not allow us to conclude that the mind was

afflicted enough, to commit sucide. Saturn is the deciever, and it

has considerable influence on the moon and the 4th house which could,

in part, explain the repeated attempts (4 times) to commit sucide.

Moon and Jupiter are seperated by less than 10 degrees and hence the

benefic influences on the moon have to be taken into account. But the

stain of the 6th house rulership for jupiter will manifest under

adverse transit conditions.

 

4th from the moon: (Aries)

Occupied by Raja Yoga (5th and 10th Lord) planet Venus. 4th Lord Mars

cuspally positioned in the 2nd and at a distance of approx 24 degress

from 3rd and 12th Lord Jupiter. There are no aspects. Again the

afflictions are minimal and the presence of the benefic venus is an

overriding factor.

 

5th house (scorpio):

5th house has a cuspally positioned Saturn influencing it and it is

aspected by 3rd and 12th lord Mercury and 2nd Lord Saturn. Sun is

first in Shadbala and Mercury is last. The 5th Lord Mars, who is 2nd

in shadbala is placed cuspally in the 8th. and weakly conjunct

Jupiter. Now, the link between the 5th and the 8th shows a tendency

towards addiction, the nature and seriousness of which are determined

by the planets and house positions. In this case, Scorpio, Mars and

Saturn are involved, indicating the seriousness of the addiction.

(Our analysis of Mel Gibson's Chart too had shown a 5th - 8th

connection). There is a near interchange between Mars and Saturn.

Venusian energies have been given a martian colouring as a result of

its placement in aries, and whenever Mars and Venus are related it

propels the native towards sensual delights.

 

The natural significator of intelligence and creativity (5th house

significations), Jupiter also occupies the 8th, further pushing the

native into addictive habits.

 

5th from the moon (Taurus):

the 5th house from the moon is populated by the 6th(and 9th)Lord

Mercury and 8th Lord Sun in close conjunction (less than 4 deg) in a

venusian sign. Ths combine is aspected by Saturn and Mars. No doubt

that there are deep afflictions here, further reinforcing our

argument.

 

9th house analysis (Pisces):

There are no occupants and no aspects. The 9th Lord Jupiter is placed

in the 8th house (12th from 9th) which shows a lack of good fortune

and luck. Jupiter and the Raja Yoga planet Mars(5th and 10th Lord) is

placed cuspally conjuncts weakly (24 degrees) Jupiter. But there is

a deeper connection between Jupiter and Mars through the exchange of

nakshatras (Jupiter is in Dhanishta ruled by Mars, and Mars is placed

in Purvabhadra ruled by Jupiter). So the 9th and 10th Lord's

conjunction providing the key to the success of the native. But it is

the 8th house, the worst dusthana, and whatever was given was soon

destroyed, as the native became increasingly erratic and

unperdicatable and at the time of her death, Fox Studios was bent on

cancelling her contract.

 

the 12th house and the 8th house are particularly important in this

case. Rahu dasa and Jupiter dasa cover the entire life-span of the

native and they are placed in the 12th and 8th house respectively.

 

Norma Jean (Marilyn Monroe) was born during Rahu Dasa Rahu antar

(Raman ayanamsa) and placed in foster care where she stayed still she

was seven years. Norma Jean mother was institutionalised and her

guardianship was transferred to her mother's best friend (Grace McKee

(after marriage Goddard)). Grace's marriage in 1935 which coincided

with Rahu dasa Jupiter antar (12th and 8th) resulted in Norma Jean

being transferred to orphanages until she was 16 years. In 1942 Grace

was to move to the east coast and to avoid Norma Jean being

transferred around orphanages and foster care approached their

neighbour about the possibility of marriage with their son. On June

19 1942 Norma Jean married James Dougherty, Rahu Dasa, ketu antar.

 

the 12th house characteristics of confinement and asylums are evident

here. Norma was born in a charity ward and the outset itself was put

into foster care. This was during the Rahu Dasa Rahu antar and

continued so until the antar of jupiter came about when the

conditions further deteriorated and was put into orphanages.

Jupiter's presence in the 8th seems to have aggravated the native's

situation. Rahu takes on the characteristics of Saturn the 7th Lord

and facilitated her marriage during ketu antar. Planets position in

the seventh from the dasa lord support marriage, during their

antardasas. The marriage was unconventional (Rahu) as it was more to

avoid further incarceration in foster homes and orphanages, than for

love.

 

During the antardasa of Venus (apr 1944) Norma started work in a war

time factory. Venus is located in the 10th house. She signed

contract with columbia pictures in the fag end of Rahu dasa and

started film shooting during Jupiter Dasa Jupiter antar. Rahu in the

12th is usually treated with caution as it shows sexual perversions,

promiscuousness and criminal inclinations, this along with Asura Yoga

(Jupiter's persence in the 8th which produces a tale-bearer, one who

spoils others works and intent on securing one's own interests, poor

and with forbidden craving, will do mean acts and troubled by effects

of own actions), 9th and 10th lord's position in the 8th led to

Marilyn being rumoured to have had affairs with numerous leading men.

 

 

Her greatest film is considered to be " Some Like it Hot " during

Jupiter dasa (Jupiter is the 6th Lord in the 8th house producing

Harsha Yoga, a positive yoga producing good results) Venus antar

(Venus in the 10th in Amala Yoga) which is considered by the American

Film Institute as the Funniest American film of all time. Marilyn

received her Golden Globe award for best actress during Jupiter Dasa

Sun Antar (Sun the natural significator for fame and prestige,

positioned in the house of gain). Marilyn was becoming increasing

erratic in her professional life which her co-star Jack Lemmon

publically criticized.

 

 

8th house analysis: (Aquarius):

 

8th house is occupied by 6th & 9th Lord Jupiter(6th in shadbala) and

5th & 10th Lord Mars (2nd shadbala). There are no aspects. The 8th

Lord Saturn is cuspally positioned and 5th in Shadbala.

 

8th from the Moon: (Leo):

 

Occupied by Maandi / Gulika and aspected by Mars. The 8th Lord Sun is

conjunct the 6th Lord Mercury.

 

Malefics influences are in no doubt here and the death was not

natural. The fourth house assessment concludes the mind was not

afflicted enough to warrant a suicide. What then?

 

Death occurred in the early hours of August 5th 1962. Jupiter Dasa

Mars Bhukthi, both of them maraka planets as they occupy the 2nd

house from the moon.

 

Death causing transits:

At the time of death, Saturn was in Capricorn putting it in a trine

from natal 12th Lord Mercury, which is a death causing transit.

 

Jupiter is in Aquarius which is the same house as the sum of the

longitudes of Lagna, Sun and Maandi. Again a death causing transit.

 

Jupiter is passing through the Rasi occupied by the Navamsa Lord of

the Pramana Gulika (please refer " Advanced principles of Prediction "

By Gayatri Devi Vasudev) another death causing transit.

 

 

Cause or Agency of Death:

 

If the Ruler of the Sign occupied by Gulika is heavily afflicted, as

in this case, then the nature of the ruler will decide the death

causing agency. In Marilyn's case the sign occupied by Gulika is Leo,

and its ruler Sun is afflicted by the 12th Lord and aspected by Mars

and Saturn. Affliction is significant enough.

Sun stands for Father or Government agencies.
