Guest guest
LOMA PRIETA QUAKE (OAKLAND, CA) Oct 17, 1989 at 17:04 hrs PDT K Libra ingress at 17:27:14 October 16 I belatedly realized that this quake is a very interesting study because it happened so near the Libra ingress. The K Libra Ingress occurred the day before the quake. The potential is clearly evident in the chart: Asc/MC 6 25 Sag/Pis Uranus 8 Sag 17 Saturn 14 Sag 12 Neptune 16 Sag 10 Foreground Ur/Sat/Ne are all square Mercury at 14 Vir 03 and opposite Jupiter at 17 Gem 01 There is another stress complex in the chart: Moon just into Taurus at 0 51 Quincunx Sun at 0 Lib 00 Mars at 24 Virgo is conj the Sun Moon is square the nodes at 28 Cap/Can 51. That is, the Moon is square the nodes and quincunx Sun/Mars. The Moon is also quincunx the MC and foreground Uranus if you want to use 6-7 degree orbs. -------------- The quake is just less than 24 hours after this ingress chart at 17:04 hours: The quake MC at 1 Sag 48 is quincunx ingress Moon at 0 Tau 51 Ingress Moon has moved to 15 Tau 27 in nearly partile trine to quake Mercury at 15 Vir 34: (a 7 minute orb) Mercury was at the point of the ingress T-cross anchored on the MC. Quake ascendant at 28 Aqu 30 is only a few minutes from the nodal axis at 28 Cap/Can 48. (Asc qincunx south node) So again (as I've been finding) the ingress Moon is a key to the quake chart: Quake MC is quincunx ingress Moon Quake Moon is in partile trine to Mercury, which set off the ingress foreground T-square. It also seems that the K ingress charts (any sign) show the quakes more clearly than the quake charts themselves. It's almost like the ingress is the birth chart for the month, much as the lunar return is the individual's monthly birth chart. The aspects at the time of the quake simply set off the ingress chart's angular stress aspects. The Fagan-Bradley Libra ingress happened just **after** the quake by only 11 minutes!! (If my program is correct.) The quake ascendant has moved into Pisces. So, out of curiosity, which ingress would siderealists use for the Loma Prieta quake?? Nothing in the return, its quotidian progression, or transiting, is on an angle of the progression. Ahem. However, dragging out my favorite toy again, (a progressed lunar, in case you didn't know) in this case the Western Sidereal Caplunar which began Oct 8, 1989 at 12:14:18 PM, PDT in Oakland (37N48 16, 122W16 11) and progressing it to the date and time of the quake yields a RAMC of 313d 14m. Note the following connections to the descendant. Midpoints of...Return.....Prog.......Transiting Mars\Uranus....310d 12m...310d 16m...312d 11m Mars\Saturn....314d 01m...314d 05m...316d 07m Pluto was conjunct the descendant with the following RAMCs: Pluto..........314d 49m...314d 49m...315d 01m Mars\Neptune...315d 14m...315d 16m...317d 09m The build-up, the quake, and the aftershocks. Average........313d 37m...315d 07m...313d 34m The average of all figures is 314d 06m. Another lucky shot in the dark (or a walk in the park?) for a progressed lunar. Regards all.
