This was only one issue, a sexual one, which happened in the one church that does not allow its clergy to marry. In India I don't even think you can be a priest unless you are married. In the middle ages, priests were expected to come to a town accompanied by a mistress. Otherwise, they were not welcome in the various locales. Seems the people then were more aware of the dangers of unattached males. >I wish I had a chart for the Catholic Church, but I don't know if it >exists. How many Jews died due to the arrogance of Pius XII? How >many Arabs died at the behest of Urban VIII? I think what makes this scandal so notable is that people are generally more aware of wrongdoing. And the media means that any piece of news makes it's way around the world in literally minutes. This could not have happened in earlier times. Or maybe it's because their very own sons are the victims. Yes, the church has survived bloodshed and criminal activities in the past, and the point is that when Pluto enters Sagittarius, it will no longer be immune from the pendulum swing of past misdeeds. That's what I think, anyway. This sexual scandal is one of the loose bricks that will weaken the structure of the church. Maybe it's a whole stack of bricks. >Yet, Ophiuchus holds a snake, which is phallic; he was also the >original deity of medicine, Ah, yes, and look what is happening!! DNA, the protein/chemical that is the essence of life has been patterned. (Human life originates in the union of sperm (Scorpio) and ovum. DNA is now used to identify criminals (Mars-Scorpio). We have stem cells, the raw material for research into all diseases that can affect human beings--medicine!! The manipulation of the cells of life. Scorpio isn't really death. The sign represents the basic foundation of life. How many charts have I seen where the birth of a child is reflected in 8th house activity? An afflicted 8th results in death, but only because the life force is teminated, not because Scorpio rules death. And this is all accompanied by controversy (Mars) since stem cell research uses aborted embryos. More Scorpio symbolism, perhaps. > an honor that ended up becoming >Mercury/Hermes later on, but the snake and the caduceus still >remain. Interesting that one of the Hindu lunar mansions of Scorpio is ruled by Mercury. Wonder if researchers in the DNA/stem cell fields have planets in this mansion? Guest guest
Ed, In the absence of such a chart, why not just use: Vatican City-Independence June 7 1929 11 am CET Rome Pluto is opposite now that chart's Sun-Mercury conjunction which 45's Venus. Doesn't that say it all? Priest (authority) + Children (boys) + Love or Sperm. R. Ed Kohout wrote: > I wish I had a chart for the Catholic Church, but I don't know if it > exists. Guest guest
Therese, For DNA I like Mercury. Plus for life, Venus-Mars-Node in aspect. R. Richard, you've lost me here! The DNA research has gone on for some years. We need a long-range indicator, and all the planets except the node (which one?) you mentioned leave aspect very quickly. Where's the logic? Therese
