Respected rajni ji,

This is how the upaya is to be done :

Every day, for 13 days regularly, fill half a bowl with dahi { curds }

and cover the dahi with a cotton cloth. Put a little ash over the cloth

and press it gently so that it soaks up the water content of the dahi.

Leave the bowl for the over night. In the morning, collect the ash in

an earthen pot, while offer the dahi at any temple. At the end of the

13th day immerse the earthen pot along with the ash into a river or

sea. The cloth you select, to cover the dahi with, should be porous

enough to soak the water through. The ash should be preferably

of ‘upale’ {dung cake} or wood charcoal { kachcha koyala } so that it

could soak up the water.

Agreed. But reading of the clause says cover dahi (shukr) with

cloth (chandr) … in the start of this mushtarka, it is said that

reshmi cloth is of Chandr. This is why …?

Respected Rajni ji,

The entire idea is to seperate water [ moon ] from the curds [

venus ]. The cotton cloth is a karak of venus. Since the water is to

be taken out of venus, the karak of venus, cotton cloth, is used.

The rakh [ ash ] which soaks up the water is a karak of mercury.
