Guest guest
Hullo, I've recently started learning Astro and have not been able to find a clear table/definition so please would someone either post here or pmail me a link/table for the following. I understand the concept of Lord of each zodiac sign but in B.V. Raman's books as well as some discourses on Horary find the term " Lord of the House. " As I understand house, it is a division of 2hrs. from sunrise to sunset, making ascendant 1st ..... .but I do not find anywhere a list of which planet is the Lord of 1st house or Lord of Ascendant. Please would someone clarify? Thanks. Also there are many systems of calculating houses, probably according to purpose of horoscope? Since I am using the sidereal ephemeris would appreciate any suggestions/pointers as to which would give the most accurate results. Lastly, please is there an online free sidereal ephemeris for NY-EST? Thanks, very much for any and all help, Kate
Guest guest
To complicate matters according to Shil-Ponde in Hindu sidereal astrology the Rising Point is not the cusp of the 1st house at all, for " the power of each house extends from a point midway between its cusp and the cusp of the preceding house " so that " the beginning of the First House...is a point midway between the Ascendant [i.e. Rising] Point and the cusp of the Twelfth House. " Also what we would call the Rising Sign is instead a lunar mansion and its interpretation differs according to whether or not there is a planet in the asterism (the author even uses Uranus and Neptune).
