Your questions can't be answered in a few words because there is so much Jyotish practiced in the west now that several ayanasmas are used by different people. I have made the beginning of a case for the Krishnamurti ayanamsa in the Earthquake folder in the Files section of this site. However western siderealists use the Fagan-Bradley ayanamsa, and many use the Lahiri ayanamsa. I'm sorry, I must be away from home all day tomorrow. Perhaps other list members will take up some of your questions. Sincerely, Therese

Hello Therese, Nice to see you are on this list (sorry I did not kept being on yours - I'm rather " tropical " oriented stutend). I would like to know if you use a fixed Krishnamurti ayanamsha: 50.2388475 " added each year from 01/01/291? I have heard there is another KP ayanamha: wath is it and do you use it? -- François P.S. I am really interested in knowing if siderealist astrologers use the same techniques as tropical astrologers: from what I have found on the list, it look like it is... I would feel at home then!... I don't know how they do the computations. If I convert a Tropical chart by hand, I have a printed Krishnamaurti table. I've noticed that the number of seconds can vary year by year from the preceiding year. The seconds might be 1, 2, 3, or more. This table is an old photocopy from one of K.S. Krishnamurti's books. I know that Parashara's Light has another ayanamsa that's called " Krishnamurti New. " I called the company, but no one knew what it was! PL is programmed in India. If you are Tropically oriented, you might be interested in some of the articles on the Lost Zodiac site. They are sidereal, but have alternate descriptions for some Tropical concepts: triplicities, polarity, etc. The signs of Aries and Taurus are finished. The drafts, that is. They will never be really finished as various students and astrologers will add new insights over the years from their own experience.
