Therese: I thought it could be of informative interest for some of you to

know about how the hindu astrrological principles are being divulgued in the

States. Since that seminar will focus exclusively on health matters as they are

suggested in the chart,this involves of course the concept of an appropiate

domification, rulerships, planetary strengths and also divisional charts. It

will probably concentrate on the information given by just 4 houses of the

chart, those associated with health, specially the ones known as trikona houses.

I have no idea who is the teacher, but he has an interesting profile and claims

to have analyzed more than 40.000 charts! You may observe also that he has a

formal education in physics, chemistry and mathematics. By the way,the best and

most suitable book I have read about Medical Astrology was written by an hindu

The teacher is Professor Jaya Sekhar of Bangalore, India. He was

initiated in astrology by his father and has been practicing for more

than 40 years in India and abroad. HE HAS ANALYZED OVER 40,000 CHARTS IN

HIS CAREER. He has conducted workshops, presented papers and done

consultations in India, France, England, US and other countries. He has

been the President of the Institute of Astrological Studies, Madras and

the Vice President of the Institute of Indian Astrology, Calcutta. His

formal education has been in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Most

recently he taught the all day intensive on relationships at the ACVA

conference in Sadona in November 2001, the Jyotish Workshop in Sunnyvale

in June 2002, and is participating in the ACVA conference in June 2003.

 

This workshop is different than most traditional Jyotish workshops. The

first day will be a lecture on how to analyze health aspects from the

chart. Each participant will bring two or three charts to the workshop

of his or her choice. Each chart would have been analyzed before coming

to the workshop, by the participant for health issues. The participant

will present the analysis to the teacher and the class. Maybe you have

made a prediction and are looking for feedback or maybe you are looking

for guidance in interpreting a " difficult " chart. The teacher will

then provide detailed feedback. Discussion will follow. In addition

there will be some time for questions and answers on other jyotish

topics of interest to the participants. The emphasis will be on

problems faced in interpreting charts of ordinary people with " mixed "

indications rather than of well known people with clear indications. In

order to provide an opportunity for real learning the class is limited

to seven participants.
