Guest guest
Well, well. Either AOL or cut off the 2nd half of my post, and I can't find the rest of it on my end. To summarize what I said, the Sidereal vs. Tropical argument isn't over which neat little Sun Sign box a given person fits in. It's over whether we should correct for precession's effect on transits, especially Solar and Lunar Returns. No one in the west used these techniques before Cyril Fagan revived the Sidereal Zodiac. This is because non-precessed return charts are less reliable than precessed ones. My favorite personal example of this is a friend of mine. Around the time of her birthday, I did her Sidereal Solar Return in 1993 and found warning signs for emotional problems. That year she was diagnosed manic-depressive, spent time in a mental ward, and had to have her stomach pumped after she swallowed all her lithium. Since her Tropical Solar Return for the same period predicted a generally good year, I take great exception to the claim that " correcting for precession is a matter of personal choice. " Whether she's an Aquarius or a Pisces is irrelevant. Later, Kevin

Not at all. She was born on 23 Feb 1976, Pittsburgh PA, at 10:11 AM. She spent the year 1993-1994 in nearby Wexford, PA (40n38, 80w03). " Hi Kevin! Just in the interest of learning, I would very much like to compare the tropical and precessed returns for your friend's difficult year - if the birth data can be disclosed. If this has been already gone over on the list, I would appreciate it if you can kindly send me the data in private mail. Thanks!
