Interesting, but the motto is Arabic for " blessing, " and related to the Hebrew _baruch_. > I have always " written off " astrology as, at best, pseudo science, and at > worst something on the other side of superstitution, because of its utter > failure to take into account the effects of the Precession of the Equinoxes That's okay -- there are many things in astrology that are tradition-based rather than fact-based, not just ignoring precession. I believe a fact-based astrology is worth looking into -- consider the discoveries of Gauquelin and Ebertin. And if it turns out to be impossible, then we'd still have insight regarding the role " coincidences " play in the way we form our belief-structures. > (Yes, I know, by rights it should be " Equinoces, " but the time-honored term > in astronomy (mis-)uses the form " Equinoxes " )(rather akin to the > Brontosaurus/Apatosaurus controversy, what ?). I might mind if this list were about Latin, but it isn't. <g> > Of late, I have gotten into a one-on-one dialogue with Jewel St. Michael > (who referred me to your list) on just this point, and the consensus of > opinion was that " the world isn't ready for this, yet.
