Guest guest
Why is there so much difference in panchangam's of north india and south india (especially tamil nadu). I noticed that at certain times even nakshatras are different and certain fast moving planets like mercury are placed in different signs depending on whether you calculate using vakya panchangam or Drik/KP/Lahiri etc. Which one is correct and why the difference and how to correct them? Shanmugam.
Guest guest
When one uses different Ayanamsas, and different formulae for calculation of position of the planets, and different places for which the panchangas are made, there is bound to be differrences. You follow the one which is most common. The Drik with Laheri Ayanamsa. good luck Shanmugam Panchu <shanpanchu wrote: Why is there so much difference in panchangam's of north india andsouth india (especially tamil nadu). Guest guest
Dear Shanmugham, The ayanamsa value (Precession of the Equinoxes), depends upon the panchang, and the year taken, when both the equinoxes coincided...eg., Krishnamurthi ji took the year 291 AD,as calculated (on a computer) by Newcomb...whereas, other panchangs take different years giving rise to the differences in the ayanamsa arrived at... Lahiri's ayanamsa is closest to K.P. ayanamsa...the diff is only 6 minutes... The proof of the pudding is in eating it...goes the famous saying... I have applied K.P., while I was at work...sending my peon to the bank every day...and used to calculate using the Ruling Planet Theory...and was able to correctly predict the time of his return and entering my cabin...95 % of the times ...I used to fail whenever Sat appeared among the RPs or the Lagna rising at the TOJ was my VIIIth house...! This,to my mind conclusively proved that K.P. ayanamsa value is very correct indeed. ! ! You are requested to try this out yourself and see the wonderful results, you will stun yourself and others.... With best wishes... L.Y.Rao. GOOD LUCK ! Shanmugam Panchu <shanpanchu wrote: Why is there so much difference in panchangam's of north india andsouth india (especially tamil nadu).
