Dear Sankar,

The recent Solar Eclipse, occurred at 10:32am GMT, 3rd Oct 2005.

This type of eclipse was an " annular " one where the Moon does not

entirely block out the Sun, because the Moon was further away from

Earth than for a Total eclipse, where it is closer.

The next Solar Eclipse occurs on 29 March 2006 at 10:11am GMT. This

one is a " Total " eclipse and will be seen in the northern hemisphere

again. It's track begins in the Atlantic ocean going north east over

Nigeria, Libya, Greece and into the Russian interior through

Kazakhstan. Northern parts of India will only see about 25% of its

totality at that distance away.

A list of solar eclipses, both in the past and into the future, can

be found in my Astracadabra astrology software package for Pocket

PCs or in the Solar Fire Deluxe software program where,

additionally, you can plot all eclipse tracks over the face of the

Earth, using the Astro Maps feature.

Regards,

Neville
