Astracadabra is an astrology program written specially for Pocket PCs, so now you can be completely mobile and do your astrology anywhere, anytime. Astracadabra has a number of western astrology features as well as traditional Vedic features. This latest version now has KP features built into it.Existing owners of Astracadabra can download this latest update for free from http://www.esotech.com.au/support/patches.html#Astrac. You will also find the Release Notes there too listing all of the changes since the last (1.4.0) version of Astracadabra. Since the initial version of Astracadabra was launched in June 2004, there have been a number of new features added to the programwith the largest number being added to the latest patch update. I have now released an Addendum to the Astracadabra User Manual (in PDF format) that can also be found at http://www.esotech.com.au/products/documents/Astra15_Addendum.pdf, and you can download and/or print it out. The Addendum lists all of the new and changed features to Astracadabra since the User Manual was issued last year. For list members who are unfamiliar with Astracadabra, you can see a full list of features for it at http://www.esotech.com.au/products/astracadabra.html. If you are interested in purchasing Astracadabra, we have Astracadabra agents in many countries but none so far in India. If you reside in India and want to purchase Astracadabra with the KP features or simply want more information about the program then I can help you directly. Contact me by email at nevilleBriefly, Astracadabra uses the highly accurate Swiss Ephemeris for its core calculations, providing an ephemeris range between 1AD and 5399AD. It also has the full ACS PC Atlas embedded giving you over 250,000 placenames around the world for latitudes, longitudes and timezones and includes daylight saving tables for every country. Astracadabra also closely interacts with Solar Fire on the desktop or laptop computer by seamlessly transferring and converting charts between the two programs, in both directions, enabling you to only keep one set of charts for these two programs. However, if you do not own Solar Fire, Astracadabra will still work on your Pocket PC without Solar Fire being present on your desktop or laptop computer. Here is a quick summary of the new features in the latest update to Astracadabra:*Time Stepper allows you to step either a single chart or bi-wheel usingincrements of second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year.*Adjust Ascendant feature enables you to enter a sign and degree and, optionally, a minute and second of a degree to calculate a birth time.*Charts may be displayed in Round wheel format or in square chart formatfor Classical western, North Indian, South Indian or East Indian styles.*A list of Solar Eclipses from 1801 - 2100 can be viewed and selected as achart.*Addition of Munkasey's CoAscendant and Polar Ascendant.*Addition of User-defined Offset and Precession rates when specifying anayanamsa.*Displayed degrees on a round or square chart may be rounded or truncated.*Planets and Signs on a chart may be in colour or black and white.*If you purchase a memory card for your Pocket PC, Astracadabra can bemoved to that memory card, freeing up your Pocket PC's RAM.NEW VEDIC AND KP FEATURES:* Adjust Ascendant feature also allows you to enter a Sign, Star and Sublord, for the KP system, so that a time of birth can be calculated for achart*Vedic dasas report displays the Vimshottari dasas down to five levels(formerly three) and displays the Dasa balance and Progressed Dasa Points(PDPs) for the Ascendant, Moon and Sun. * KP Details report displays planet and house cusp longitudes to seconds of arc as well as their Star, Sub and Sub Sub Lords. The report also displays planet and house significators, Ruling Planets (RPs), indicators if an RP is in a Star or Sub of a retrograde planet or if a RP is retrograde itself, except Rahu and Ketu. The Badhaka and Maraka planets are also listed.*For the KP system, an orb between 0 degrees and 5 degrees can beoptionally set placing a planet in the next house if a planet is withinthis orb of the next house cusp and is used in significator calculations.*The KP Horary feature calculates a chart after a number between 1 and 249has been entered and the corresponding Ascendant determined. This featureis particularly useful where multiple horary questions are asked in a shortspace of time.*The Krishnamurti New zodiac option uses the new Krishnamurti ayanamsa asat 2003. The original Krishnamurti ayanamsa can also be selected. TIP:Astracadabra has always had a " Clock " feature where the current transit chart ticks over every 30 seconds. This is handy if you want to check the current transits if something suddenly occurs near or to you. You can also be looking at the KP Details report and watch it refresh every 30 seconds and see what Sign, Star, Sub and Sub Sub the Ascendant and Moon (or any other planet or point) is currently posited. This feature is one way of learning what Stars and Subs of the Ascendant and/or Moon are good (or bad) for your chart.Regards,Neville LangAstracadabra Developer,Melbourne, Australia
