Shanmugham's Technique Applied to AA-rated Charts

Dear Members,

I have just uploaded a file that contains the latest analysis of

Shanmugham's birth rectification technique using AA-rated charts

supplied by Tin Win. Please go through it and let me have your

comments.

Very fast work, and very systematic. The results are an eye opener. As per your

 

study about 80% satisfy the rule. The real question posed is , that even when

the

 

time is changed by 10 minutes, the results remain more or less the same. From my

family

 

records I had got the same percentage of agreements, but did not try changed

times.

 

The puzzle is how even wrong times were taken, the results remained almost same.

 

Since you have programme for check up, can you check up with the time altered by

say

 

just 5 minutes. If you get the results showing reverse of the results with

correct

 

time, one could say that the rule appears to hold good/ and useful if one knows

the

 

birth time within 5 minutes.

 

This is just an idea for testing.

Thanks. As you suggest, I will try with 5 min deviation tomorrow and

give you the feedback. From whatever I have understood so far about

this rule, it appears to be " correctness agnostic " .

If we chage date result will be same even we cahge month result will be same. please check. if we go one -one minite gap result will be same . you can check any how result will be same.

Dear Rangarajan,

 

1. It's a well done statisical study which I love it. Of course,

it's an overall macro analysis, not micro-- one chart at one time

which may drag on by telling different stories on so many factors.

 

2. May I suggest you not to mention Shanmugham's name since it's not

so sure what he means and in order to avoid seeking of interpretor

or moderator, and just to say checking of a connection between the

ASC sublord and MOON starlord rule for birth time rectification.

 

3. As mentioned in the case of Bill Gates, if Asc Sbl and Moon Stl

are the same Saturn for both TOB 21:01:20 and TOB 22:00:00, how come

this rule can be reliable. It may be seen more clearly if the time

differnce be widen more than 10 min, eg. up to 30 min or more.

 

4. I know you're very tired. I'm soory. However, if you don't mind,

after taking a rest, to finish the proverbial wild-goose-chase of

the asc sub to moon star rule with a more solid statistical study,

but not saying by assumptions, I can provide you with more AA birth

data to make the sample size at least 200.

 

5. Of course, study of these data may be helpful to find something

useful in some rules.

Dear TW,

Thanks for your comments.

1) I can remove Shanmugham's name from the document, no problem. But

to whom should this technique be attributed? Perhaps it will be a good

idea to collect all such techniques in one document and label them

BRT-1, BRT-2, etc. for such a study, without mentioning the inventor's

name everywhere.

 

For this, may I suggest that members share their understanding and

experience in using other techniques for birth time rectification. For

me to check the effectiveness, I need a precise definition.

 

2) I am not tired, so please go ahead and give me some more AA births.

As you are aware for a study to be useful, especially to establish the

effectiveness of the BRT, we need a LARGE reference set. It would be

nice to build (over a period of time) a set comprising at least 500

records.

3) I will experiment some more with birth time deviation - 5 min, 20

min and 30 min.

 

By the way, this is a request to ALL: When you get time, please check

the correctness of the data listed in my document. It is quite

possible that I have entered the birth data incorrectly. It is also

wise to check the connection manually (at least randomly) so you can

identify programming mistakes! Unless these are done, the study is not

reliable.

Dear Rangarajan,

 

1. Many thanks. Let me explain my view. For a debit it may not be so

important to whom this technique be attributed and the most

important thing is the study of the technique with a set defination

as you've done. By doing so, a controversy of interpretation or

different stories can be avoided and a statistical conclusion can be

made independently. For a credit or a clear cut technique, of course

inventor's name will be mentioned.

 

2. I'll review data entry and results to make sure there are no

mistakes. I'm also checking to avoid any double entry in providing

birth data.

Dear Sri Rangarajan,

 

I congratulate you on your tremendous effort to povide data, on a

backbeaking job,in a very short time.

 

From the data, it is evident the success rate is approx 85 %.You had

also mentioned the birthtime was adjusted by 10 min.Purely from

interest point of view was the birth time preponed,i.e. advanced or

delayed by 10 min.

 

If we consider the evolution theory ,by Quantum theory,human births,

animal births and birth of other species take place at quantum

times,only. Your data produced with somuch effort may at some point

provide guidance.It can be a " birth situation' to no-birth situation "

,

Thanks. Actually the " backbreaking " job was TW's since he provided the

data. Mine was not too hard.

 

Please note that the success rate of the BRT we studied is NOT 85%. In

one of the earlier docs uploaded, I had hinted at an " effectiveness "

computation as the pair <S, F>. S gives the success rate with respect

to detecting correct data and F gives the success rate in detecting

incorrect data. Both S and F are important. An ideal BRT should have

<100, 100>. The technique we studied has approx <82, 20>. It means the

technique is biased towards " correct " charts. It is NOT very

discriminating, so not very reliable.

 

For your other question, if you see the summary table, you will see

that I had considered timepoint deltas {-30, -25, -20, -15, -10, -5,

+5, +10, +15, +20, +25, +30} with respect to the given correct time.
