Thanks. After the convincing arguments put forth by Kanak and Ron and

the supporting brief study, I believe the conclusion is easy to

derive: Please do NOT use Asc sublord/Moon starlord connection for

birth time rectification. Interestingly, Shri.Raichur independently

confirms this in his message #4614.

I am not unduly worried about " consensus " . If one has " scientific

temper " one will listen to reason.

This frees our mind from focussing on a " seductive " (thanks, Ron)

temptor, letting us concentrate on learning to use RPs effectively for

this purpose.

Dear Tin Win,

Thanks. I was also wondering what Punit was trying to say in #4597. I

suspect there is some overlap between what he says and the CKV

technique that KPAstro implements. Honestly, at this point the CKV

rule requires considerable empirical validation (although its inventor

Shri.Kadirvelu did a detailed study for a long period).

Rangrajan ji,

I personally never convinced by the rationale of Asc-Moon connection method and it is the reason behind creating the poll. But I fear that your study can not be taken as having final verdict as there are few assumptions in the the study. And the most important one is that all those charts are correct. Which may or may not be true. It is failing on 20% cases and what is the guarantee of accuracy of those 20% chart. Specially we are talking about the accuracy till Ascendant Sub means around four minutes. I am not saying that the study is having no significance but we need more study and should not rush to any conclusion.

Your observations are valid. It would certainly help to test the

theory on known correct charts. How are we to find such charts? I will

Formerly, Storm Cestavani wrote by email (1/16/1999) " I found the

source on a website and then went and bought the A & E Biography on

Dole which stated the same exact time. The announcer stated that

according to Hospital Records, Mary Elizabeth was born at 4:12 PM. I

ordered a book that a fan of Dole's recommended where she states the

birth time is also available in 'Elizabeth Dole: A Leader in

Washington.' " LMR phoned A & E and was told that " Yes, A & E did a

biographical report on Ms. Dole but no, there are no copies

available as A & E did not have permission to copy the program. " There

are therefore no copies to be purchased.

This is not the first time that Storm's moniker seemed almost

prescient. Storm was also at the center of a data controversy that

swirled around the Colorado Killers birth data two years ago. He

reported that he had a birth certificate in hand but when challenged

was not been able to produce a hard copy. When any data collector

has been found to have a credibility gap, it is the policy of

AstroDatabank to give all further data from that collector a C

rating unless we are given hard copy documentation of the birth data.

over some years and it has taken two decades to finally obtain a

copy of the B.C.

A recent biography by Helena Matheopoulos on Placido Domingo, 2001,

presents the same data. She also prints a photo-copy of the original

certificate of baptism (dated March 22, 1941), which repeats his

date of birth as January 21, 1941. (This copy was apparently

obtained from the church especially for her publication as it is

dated November 25, 1988.)

Covent Gardens in London celebrated Domingo's birthday on 1/21/2001,

as did the New York Metropolitan. When Domingo sang the Romanza

from " Maravilla " at the New York Met on 1/21/2001, he himself chose

the 4:00 PM starting time (although it is not the usual time to

start a matinee) because he said it was the exact (equivalent) time

of his birth in Madrid 60 years ago and he hoped his mother was

enjoying this zarzuela choice in heaven.

(Formerly, Joe Fitzgerald sent a note to Rodden c. 1980 that

read " January 31, 1941, 9:00 PM, Madrid, " allegedly from Domingo. It

may have been scrawled hastily, but Grietje Versavel quoted

colleagues in Spain for the same data. However the date of January

21, 1941 is given in all reference books, including his

autobiography. In the TV Letterman show in which Drew Barrymore

flashed her bare breasts at Letterman in celebration of his

birthday, Domingo on the same show joked with his usual good

humor, " Tell Drew that my birthday is January 21. " )

Howard Hammitt Jr. called LMR to report that he was the one who had

looked up Hepburn's B.C. for Kraum (For years, her date was given

out as 11/08/1907, an error that she perpetuated up to the time of

her autobiography, " Me, Stories of My Life, " Knopf, 1991, when she

admitted that she had lied about her birthdate. The date of November

8 was the birthdate of her brother Tom, who had hanged himself from

the rafters at 16. She was 14 and found him, a great trauma.

PT adds in May 2004: Sotheby's catalog shows some of the personal

effects the auction house is selling in June 2004. Among the items

is an announcement of her birth sent in a telegram from M. Hepbourn

[sic] to F. L. Garlinghouse on May 12, 1907 (note the spelling of

her name): " Catherine Houghton Hepbourn, second, came at seven

elevin [sic] tonight, Eight half pounds, all well. " PT notes that

Garlinghouse was the maiden name of Kate's maternal grandmother; we

do not know who M. Hepbourn is; it's unlikely to be her father since

Kate in her autobiography, " Me, " gives her father's name as Thomas

Norval Hepburn.

Dear tw, and Friends,

tw thanks for posting the data. If Rangarajan could use his

program to check this will give a pointer to likely results.

Nevertheless other factors may also be relevant - in fact this

may turn out to be the most productive outcome from the study.

I am willing to take part in the experiment I suggested, if other

members are also interested.

I would suggest that we take one chart at a time to avoid

confusion. From there we can discuss it and come to a

conclusion on whether the chart fits the rule. Also whether

any other factors look interesting, which may enhance our

understanding and success in rectification.

We would need a moderator, who could set the timing for

assessing the charts, and I would suggest tw (as he has produced

the data) if he is willing to participate.

The analysy may take some time, as all charts have to be cast/and studied.

In the meanwhile, from my family records, I got the following results.

of 22 charts, 18 satisfy the rule, 4 do not. Rule being " somehow connected " Only

2

have smae ASC sub and MOON star lord.

Now that the book Astrosecrets is being marketed as published, edited and written by K.Subramaniam,the illustrious son of KSK., for clarifications...?

We should better check for ourselves in the group whether we are "reading more than what was meant" into the Rule,particularly,in the context in which it was written,befor all of us "embarking upon a wild-goose-chase" needlessly...by trying to interpret what the late Mr.Shanmugham might have meant,or taking the literal meaning...erc...

I understand your concern that we should not misinterpret the rule,

apply it wrongly and then blame the rule. Agreed. If Mr.Shanmugham

were alive today, it would be easy to resolve the issue. In his

absence, is it really useful to consult Mr.K.Subramaniam,

Mr.Balasekaran et al.? What they will explain is " their " version of

the rule, not Shanmugham's, right? I am not sure this is a useful

exercise.

Here is my humble suggestion. For the benefit of all of us, can you

explain the rule in simple English with examples of connections

existing and not existing? First, of course, you will have to

clearly define the meaning of " connection " in the manner that I

defined in the document uploaded.

It will be a great help if you can also randomly pick charts from

the list Tin Win has provided, apply the rule as per your

understanding and prove that the charts are correct or incorrect.

Dear Lajmi ji , Ranagarajan ji,Punit ji,

Frist Lajmi ji write rules ( not part of Rules ) .and give any examples which he was done in past( lajmi ji very frequantly write that thay use this rules from long time.)

also lajmi ji give interpritetion of this rules as per his understanding.

all this is under the name of CHECKING OF P.SHANMUGHAM'S RULE OF BITH TIME RECTIFICATIONS .

And If Punit ji also want to give the interpritetion of this rules with his observation during use this rules also most wellcome.with examples.I request Punit ji to continue posting on this subject untill we all come to one point.

After received all this we can start checking till This DISCUSSION stop here.WITHOUT ANY PROPER EXPLANTION NO ONE GIVE HIS OPINION ON THIS RULE.NOT ONLY EXPLANATION BUT EXAMPLE IS MUST.

Don't you think that we should seek a clarification from the Editor of Astrosecrets & K.P., Mr.K.Subramaniam,as per the book's advertisement on his site,by the illustrious son of KSK ?

Else,would we not be "jumping the gun" ? !

Firstly,are we sure that we ourselves are not misinterpreting what was written and/or without knowing what was actually meant by the late Shri M.P.Shanmugham ?

Secondly,in the opinion of many,para 3 of the Rules for Birth Time Verification ...says "rough time",and it could mean...a few minutes here and there...? ?

In my personal opinion,I suggest a direct communication be sent to Mr.K.Subramaniam himself,before perhaps,setting up ourselves to go on a proverbial "wild-goose-chase...I feel that is the "propah" approach...
