The results of mercury in the 12th might get modified to some extent if it is with Saturn. Flowing an earthen pot in water or wearing a shining steel chhalla are good upaya but these upaya have to be supported by upaya for Jupiter also. Since the 12th house belongs to Jupiter therefore applying haldi tilak should also be done along with either of the above upaya. Going to temple and praying also helps. I had used the word mad dog in the figurative sense indicating its ability to harm. The steel chhalla advised is taking the help of Saturn. Does it mean, such persons with Mercury in the 12th house would be extremely short tempered, arrogant, mad, unreasonable, selfish, or all of these things. Please clarify. At least I have a few in my own home, with the 12th house Mer. Son with with Mer+ sun, wife with Mer+Ven, sister with Sat (now no more), brother with Mer alone if I remember (also no more).. Of course I understand you have to take other planets also into account.. Would appreciate some clarification about their behaviour... Krishna Ashant ji and that is why I had written it within quotes. The intention of this phrase was to convey that a person with mercury in the 12th house gets gripped by imaginary fears " budh kisi na kisi tarah ka dar paida kiye rahta hai " . Although in the case of the ladies , mercury in the 12th house is not as malefic as in the case of men. We advise that the ring should be open at the ends, where as some others say that it should be closed at the ends.The book says that a chhalla be worn, but traditionally it is advised that one chhalla be thrown the same day in the flowing water also. He asked to jalparvah 1 ring at the time of wearing another as recommended by varun ji. But unlike mahajan ji he advised to wear the ring on little finger of the left hand. There is a remedy of wearing a gold ring for ketu 6 on this finger. So i figure out that since 6th house aspects 12 th house. This modification has been made. Otherwise a bangle or kara even anklet can fit in but the word used is challa signifying a ring on finger,therefore a particular finger has to be assigned for it.
