I wish to clarify a few words as how they work in relation to planets - what is the difference betwen these words -- When planets are 1. strenthened and how to do that 2. Pacified and how to do that 3. Appeased and how to do that 4. Propitiate and how to do that For example Donating the thing of a certain planet does what 1,2,3, or 4? Using the thing of a certain planet does what 1,2,3, or 4? Jaap of some planet's or some Devtaa's Mantra does what 1,2,3, or 4? Simple prayer, or Stuti or reading Stotra does what 1,2,3, or 4? Observing a fast of the planet's day does what 1 2, 3, or 4? such like activities. Please explain this. Guest guest Posted January 28, 2009 Report Share Posted January 28, 2009 Respected Sushma ji, Strengthening a planet A planet in the kundali can be strengthened by establishing the karak vastu of the planet either on the person or in the house aligned to the bhava of the kundali; like wearing gold or applying tilak of saffron/ haldi or establishing at home some honey, or rain water etc. Propitiating / pacifying : It is the same thing. It can be done in two ways; [ a ] By the help of mother Moon. Keeping a toy silver elephant dipped in ganga jal is an act of pacifying Rahu. [ b ] By offering at a temple. This is another method of making a planet change its nature by making it swear in the presence of God not to act belligerent. Appeasing : Nothing like reciting the stotra of the planet to appease it. The stotra ends with expressions like ‘pranamamyham’ I bow before thee or ‘sharanamyaham’ I come to thy shelter. Who doesn’t like a chamcha? Donating the karak vastu of a planet distances away the effects of the planet. That is why one should donate the karak objects of the malefic planets only. Using the karak object of a planet could amount to establishing the planet. Once again we should use the things of benefic planets only. Jap of any devta invokes his powers, if Bhakti bhav is added to this Jap then it appeases. Prayer and stuti appease a Devta or a planet Observing fast is showing your reverence to the devta or planet which might appease him. What I understood -- (1) A planet is strengthened only when he is weak in a Kundalee. I think at the same time he should be benefic also, because there is no use to strengthen a malefic planet. It also boils down to that one should not strengthen any planet unless told by any astrolger. Correct? (2) Propitiating or Pacifying are the same thing. I think this should be done when any planet is angry, or Ugra and harming the Jaatak. So it means that one should not pacify any planet of his own, as he might not know which planet is angry. According to your sggestions that how this is done, it is really difficult to identify what should be kept in home or what not. OR What should be offered in a emple and what not. UNLESS an astrolger tells you all about this. Correct? (3) Now about appeasing. It means that any Stotra related to any planet can be recited because if that planet is benefic, there is no harm; and if it is not benefic, then also appeasing him will give us good results. But at the same time, I think, reciting a Stotra of any Devtaa (like Raam Rakshaa Stotra, Shiv Panchaakshar Stotra, recitation of 108 names or 1,000 nqmes of any Devtaa etc) may be done without any hitch. For the same reason, doing Jaap, Stuti, and fast for any planet or Devtaa is safe for everybody; While donations, wearing anything, keeping anything in the house should always be done according to one's Kundalee. In the same reference, one question more, we had a tradition (we have it even now too), that on Saturday, one should donate some mustard oil to Padakuaa and eat roasted Kaalaa Chanaa. Besides one should not buy any iron thing on this day. Do you think this always affects Shani Dev good without seeing the Kundalee of a person? Hope I have not asked you too much. Reciting stotra of any planet, benefic or malefic, is always helpful. Reciting stuti like Ramraksha stotra etc can be done without any apprehensions and one does not need the advice of any pundit or astrologer for that. [ 4 ] Yes donation should be done after consulting an astrologer. [ 5 ] There is never any harm in following the age old traditions like gifting mustard oil or not buying iron stuff on Saturdays etc. These traditions are based on the collective wisdom of generations.
