Guest guest
Sir, Just a general query. Why is it believed that an exalted Jupiter with a longitude beyond 16d40 in Cancer could give malefic results which are not expected from an exalted planet? Guest guest
Respected Jain saheb, When a planet crosses over 16 deg 40 min in Cancer, it moves into Ashlesha nakshatra. The swami [lord] of this nakshatra is mercury. Therefore Jupiter with more than 16d40 ansha in Cancer, although in a rasi of its exaltation, gets placed in a nakshatra lorded by a planet hostile to Jupiter. It is like staying in a house owned by an enemy. Under these circumstances Jupiter will not be comfortable and may not be in a position to give results commensurate with its exalted rasi. This could become all the more certain if the mercury is badly placed in the Janma Kundali and the Jupiter is devoid of any help from other friendly planets. This is a well known Vedic astrology dictum, equally applicable for Lal Kitab, that when a planet gets placed in a nakshatra lorded by a hostile planet, it might give malefic results depending on other planetary placements in the janma kundali. Therefore, it is always advisable to keep in mind which nakshatra the planet is placed in. Guest guest
Dear Jain, Signs Cancer and Sagittarius are in 6/8 disposition which is considered as inimical in astrology. When Jupiter is in cancer and obtains degrees in between 16deg40' and 20deg , it will falls in Sagitt. Navamsa.. This is the reason that it is not considered as good. Guest guest
Respected Goel Saheb, Thank you sir for this explanation. This adds to my knowledge. I had explained this slightly differently. The jupiter enters Ashlesha after 16Ca40 and since this nakshatra is ruled by Mercury therefore the results of an exalted Jupiter may not be as good as expected. Guest guest
Dear Varun ji The 6/8 position as explained by Mr Goel may not hold true. Mainly the navamsha chart is seen to analyse the strength of a planet and also for marriage/relationship aspect. so a planet can be in exaltation in birth chart but if debilitated in navamsha, would lose strength. So an exalted Jupiter in Natal chart and jupiter in own sign in Navamsha can not be termed a bad combination. This way anybody having Saggitarius lagna and an exalted Jupiter in the 8th from lagna would be termed malefic, which is not the case in reality. Your logic about Jupiter in an inimical nakshatra seems quite sound!! respectfully Sharat Pandit On Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 12:00 PM, varun_trvd <varun_trvd wrote: Respected Jain saheb,When a planet crosses over 16 deg 40 min in Cancer, it moves into Ashlesha nakshatra. Guest guest
Respected Goelji To analyse the position of a planet, it is advisable to 1. see its position in the birth chart, ie PAC, then its position from its own signs and respective bhavas, strength in shadbala, combusion, debilitation or exaltation etc 2. see its position in navamsha and relative position in Navamsha vis-a- visbirth chart. if the planet is benefically posited in birth chart and not so well in navamsha , it looses strength. 3. Nakshatra and their lordship and the birth nakshatra are very important in vedic astrology and are the basis for interpretation of transit results and vimshottari dasa. 4. whenever a planet in transit enters a nakshatra, it gives the result as per the position of the planet and Nakshatra lord as per the position of planets in a particular birth chart, which is different in individual cases. 5. In vimshottari dasa the results do not depend on the position of Mercury vis-a-vis Jupiter. respectfully yours Sharat Pandit On Thu, Jan 29, 2009 at 5:32 PM, Gopal Goel <gkgoel1937 wrote: Dear JAIN and Sharat ji, Sharat ji has given wrong example. Guest guest
Dear members; from lalkitab prespectve a very senior lalkitab scholar ( he prefers anonymity) once told me that for jupier in house no 4. the sehan is house no 10.. this house no 10 is pakka ghar of shani which looks in all directions, the influence of which on jupiter placed in houe no 4 is inevitable, so the occupation of house no 10, nature of saturn and its placement in the natal chart is all important to check the benefic or malefic nature of jupiter in house no 4. also a list of symtoms have been given to check the nature of jupiter in house no 4.it is a much simplar procedure. would request senior members' views on this. regards kulbir On 1/29/09, Gopal Goel <gkgoel1937 wrote: Dear JAIN and Sharat ji, Sharat ji has given wrong example.
