Respected Varun ji,

"you are right throwing a copper coin or a flower in a ganda nala is one of the upaya suggested for Venus placed in the 8th house. The 8th house signifies a ganda nala where throwing a copper coin [sun] or a flower [mercury] will help it : ‘rahu ke gande naale se hi madad payega jis mein tamba [ sooraj] ya phool [budh] ka dalana mubarik hoga [ page 155, 1942 urdu ed ]"

My query is that "tamba" copper is the metal for Sun and Mars. Why Sun is taken as significator of 8th house. The 8th house of kalapurasha is Scorpio i.e.Mars So the upaya should be done for Mars , not for Sun. More over 8th house is "marghatshamshan ghat"

or cementery where fire is present i.e. Mars. We burn the dead body in the shamshan ghat. Similarly we throw away refuse of our body away from the locality. So ganda nala again represents So its appropriate to throw in the nala.

My question is why only copper coin? It should be copper metal. It can be in any shape. such as copper wire which is easily avalavle in cities.

The flower is is indicated by Mercury as well as Venus particularly white flower, blue frwers for Rahu. One can visit temle or any place of worship for Venus in 8th or give "Jimikandha" in place of worship for Venus in 8th.

These are my views If I am wrong please correct me.--- On Wed, 1/7/09, varun_trvd <varun_trvd wrote:

Respected Raheja ji,Yes, you are right throwing a copper coin or a flower in a ganda nala is one of the upaya suggested for Venus placed in the 8th house. The 8th house signifies a ganda nala where throwing a copper coin [sun] or a flower [mercury] will help it : ‘rahu ke gande naale se hi madad payega jis mein tamba [ sooraj] ya phool [budh] ka dalana mubarik hoga [ page 155, 1942 urdu ed ]The Lal Kitab suggests: gau sewa ya daan se sab kuchh ummda ho [ page 155,1942ed]. Feeding a cow is gau sewa. Moreover it is difficult to find an open sewage drain in big cities to throw a flower in. Copper coins are a rare commodity any way. Therefore feeding a cow with aate ke pede [flour balls] is a very convenient upaya. In the upaya you have talked about, aate ka peda [ wheat flour balls ] also signify the sun , Sunday the day suggested also belongs to the sun; the number 8 signifies

the 8th house. But these pede [flour balls] should be fed to a black coloured cow. A venus placed in the darkness of the house of death [ 8th house] becomes a syaah [dark] cow. Here by offering the karak objects of the Sun [ flour balls] to the karak object of Venus in the 8th house [ a dark cow] , the effort seems to be to add luster and shine to Venus, which the Venus would have lost by being in the house of death.Regards,Varun Trivedi , "girish_raheja" <girish_raheja@ ...> wrote:>> Sir,> > Throwing a copper coin or a flower into a ganda nala for 43 days is a > well known remedy for venus in the 8th house. Respected Varun Trivedi ji,

I intend to say that Mars is the significator of 8th house as 8th sign of Kalaprusha is Bhirshich whose lord s Mars. So we should do the upaya of Mars not of Sun. Why we should throw Sun in ganda nala? So it is my personal views that when the book was writen copper coins were readily available in the market. The time has changed and copper coins are a rare item.So we should not iinsist on copper coin and do the upaya of Mars. We should see the logic behind the upaya not insist on what is writen in the book.

Respected Dr Kursija ji,Neither I in my reply nor the book, suggests that the Sun signifies the 8th house. The book does suggest throwing Tamba in ganda nala. While mentioning Tamba the book itself has clarified it to signify the sun.As you have mentioned that a copper wire too might serve the purpose, I have to add that a copper coin signifies the sun in more than one form. It is made of copper signifying the sun ; it is round in the shape of the sun; and bears a State emblem signifying authority or Rajyadhikar; in other words royalty. Therefore a copper coin would represent the Sun far more closely than a copper wire. You have also suggested that a karak object of Venus can be offered at a temple. Yes, it can be. But a karak object of a planet is offered at a temple to make the planet swear in the presence of God that it will behave and not act malefic or belligerent. But to our

mind the upaya suggested of throwing copper coin or a flower [ mercury ] appears to be an exercise in strengthening the Venus, which in my reply I had explained as restoring the shine and the luster of the Venus which seems to have been affected by its being in the 8th house.
