Guest guest
Respected Gill ji, A very interesting query !! Lal Kitab has assimilated folk traditions and remedies with an astrological logic and rationale. This is the beauty of this system, and of course its strength too. Yes as a folk tradition, it is considered manhoos [ inauspicious ] if some one gets called from behind. It is assumed that the work the person set out for will not get done or might face obstacles. It is considered manhoos for the person who has been called and not the one who is calling. Lal Kitab does mention about it specifically for a person having Ketu in the 11th house. Now why did Pandit ji specifically mention it in the case of Ketu in the 11th house? The logic is : [ a ] Awaz dena or calling some one is the karak activity of mercury [ 1939 ed page 73] that too of mercury of its own house. [ b ] peechhe se awaz dena [ getting called from behind ] would mean mercury in the 3rd house. Let us understand why peechhe se [ from behind ] means the 3rd house. In astrology the houses counted clockwise from the Lagna till the half of the 7th house are known as the Drashta houses [ houses which are visible] ; the sun moves along these house till it sets in the 7th house. The houses from the first half of the 7th till the Lagna [ counted clockwise ] are the Adrashta houses [ houses not visible ]. In the Lal Kitab terminology the pahale ke ghar are the Adrashta houses and baad ke ghar are the Drashta houses. A call from behind is Adrashta [ not visible ], therefore the mercury can be either of the 6th house or of the 3rd house. If the call comes from under and the back than only it will be considered of the 6th house otherwise it would be an activity of mercury placed in the 3rd house. For Ketu in the 11th the book says: Rajdarbar ke liye rajyog hoga [agar budh 3 na ho] { 1952ed page 733 } Therefore for a person with Ketu in the 11th getting called from behind becomes a raj yog bhang karak [ one that destroys the Rajyog ] With regards, Varun Trivedi , " gill_hs2005 " <gill_hs2005 wrote: > > Respected Sirs, > > Traditionally it is considered inauspicious to call some one from > behind specially if some one is going for an important work. > Does the Lal Kitab consider it as a bad omen? > > Sincerely, > > H S Gill >
