Respected Manish ji,

You are right that the goli upaya is mentioned only for mercury in

the 9th house. The reason appears to be that one of the masnuyee

componant of mercury is Rahu. Therefore to subdue rahu a solid round

shaped [ rahu ] goli of iron [ saturn ] painted dull red [ shubh

mars ] has been advised.

As for the mercury + saturn in the 3rd house, one does not have to

keep a goli. The two planets have their independent effect in the 3rd

house and the upaya has be for both of them individually. If

Saturn is identified as malefic then the upaya suggested is to either

have a dog as a pet or to serve dogs. For mercury it is feeding the

birds specially the pigeons.

If the 11th and the 9th houses are not occupied in that case mercury

will be dormant [ soya hua ] and no upaya would be needed. It is

better that the mercury is left asleep.

Since we do not discuss individual horoscopes or suggest upaya in

this group I can not go into further details about upaya etc. We

discuss only the concepts and the principles of the Lal Kitab in this

group.

With regards,

Varun Trivedi
