Posheeda teen / Veiled Trio

[ a ] Bali ke bakare / scapegoat

[ b ] Budh ka bhed / Nature of mercury

[ c ] Shani ka swabhav / Nature of Saturn

I call them posheeda because you have to find them

out; they are not obvious on their own. But these

three concepts are very helpful while identifying

the cause of the problem.

I have already explained the concept of

bali ke bakare / scapegoat while talking about

planets. I will talk about the other two now.

Budh ka bhed :

I think mercury is the most talked about planet in

the Lal Kitab. It has been referred with all kinds

of derogatory epithets like spitting leper, unfaithful

whore, eunuch, ullu ka pattha, zaharee [ poisonous]

and what not.

The most important thing about the mercury is

that who it is with. If the mercury is all alone in

the house then it will give its own effect, if it is

with another planet, benefic or malefic, it will

imbibe the quality of that planet also.

There are three things to be found out about the

mercury in any horoscope :

[ a ] Budh ki naali : Mercury mixes its own effect

and of those placed with, to any other house where

Venus is placed through its ‘naali’; kind of an

umbilical cord. Mercury is assumed to have the

power to mix the effect of the house it is placed in

with the house where the Venus is placed except

for when the mercury is placed in the Lagna or

when 7th to each other. In spite of this umbilical

relationship, the effect of the house Venus is placed

in does not get transferred to the house where the

mercury is placed. When the Venus gets placed in

the Lagna, the effect of the mercury and the house it

is placed in will get assimilated with that of the Venus.

[ b ] Budh ka prabhav : Mercury’s effect: It is believed

that the mercury, if placed alone, gives the results of the

pakka house owner. For example if it is placed in the

1st house it will give the results of the Sun, in the 2nd that

of Jupiter and so on [ see table on page 181 Arun sanhita

1952 ]. Not only that it will damage the results of a planet

placed 9th from it. [ see the same table ].

[ c ] Budh ka swabhav : One has to find out the nature

of the mercury. This becomes crucial under certain

circumstances.

There is a mathematical process through which the nature

of mercury is ascertained. I am giving the process here :

In order to find the nature of mercury each planet is

assigned a value, this value is only for this purpose,

it is not a value assigned to the planets permanently.Sun : 9Moon : 8Mars : 5Mercury : 4Jupiter : 6Venus : 7Saturn : 3Rahu : 2Ketu : 1Step #1 : multiply the value of the planet with the

house number the planet is situated in. Suppose the sun

is in the 6th house then 6 X 9 = 54 , and so on.

Work out for all the planets in the horoscope.Step # 2 : Add all the results together. Divide that

total by 9.If the remainder is :0 = mercury will behave like the planet placed in

the 5th house. If the 5th house is not occupied then

it will behave like the sun where ever the sun is placed.1 = like Ketu2 = like rahu3 = like Saturn4 = like mercury { itself }5 = like mars6 = like Jupiter7 = like venus8 = like moonThus the nature of mercury is ascertained.

How important it is to find out the nature of

mercury, let me give you an example :

I got a message in my group from a couple who

didn’t have a child. The doctors confirmed that

there was no physical deformity. I looked at both

the charts, husband’s and wife’s , and didn’t find

any of the planetary combinations that could either

deny or delay progeny. On the contrary in the chart

of the husband Mars and venus were together in the

7th house for which the book says, sukh sagar ho

bhari kabeela, santaan pota sab phalata ho { will be

happy with a large family, sons and grandsons

flourishing it further says that tevewala kabhi lavald

na hoga chahe uske santaan yog lakh mande hi kyon

na hon { will not be without progeny even if he might

have hundreds of manda planetary combinations of

progeny}.

It suddenly struck me to work out the Budh ka bhed

{ nature of mercury }. Mercury was placed with rahu.

When I worked out the nature of mercury it turned

out to be that of Venus. Now the combination turned

out to be venus + rahu ketu gina phal shukra manda.

The upaya was done. Now they have a daughter.

Shani ka swabhav : Nature of the Saturn

While delineating one should also have a look at

the nature of the Saturn. It depends on the Saturn’s

placement relative to Rahu and ketu [ See the table

on page 201 Arun Sanhita 1952; there is a mistake

in printing, shukra ketu should be read shani ketu ].

The table gives an idea the Saturn adversely affecting

its karaks for the house it is placed in. This nature of

the Saturn does not apply for the 2nd and the 10th house.

Bhooshan Priya

Next : Kundali Sanshodhan / teve ki durusti
