[ 1 ] House or Bhav or Khana

House is the main basic component of the

Lal Kitab paddhati. Traditionally also in the

Indian astrology a house or Bhav has always

been very important for delineation. In the

Lal Kitab paddhati while considering a bhav,

or khana as it has been referred through out

the book, there are a few things to be kept in

mind : the sign [ rasi ] of the house, the fixed

house of the kal purush kundali, the pakka

house owner of the house and the occupant

of the house.

Rasi or sign of the house is a well understood

fact. No explanation needed for that.

Kal Purush Kundali is an imaginary fixed

horoscope or a Cardinal horoscope where

the 1st house is always Aries. Lal Kitab

paddhati incorporates it into its analysis

of the house.

[ 2 ] Pakka ghar:

In the lal Kitab each house has been

designated as a pakka ghar of a planet

or planets.

Pakka ghar owner is yet another concept

of the Lal Kitab, which is akin to the karak

of the bhav in traditional astrology. Each

house has been assigned to planet/s who

will be the pakka house owner of that house.

You can get this from a table in the book.

You will find this concept of a pakka ghar

occurring very often in the book.

A planet placed in the house is the occupant

of the house. It is again a well understood

concept and doesn't need any explanation.

This entire concept of a house can be well

understood through an image. Let us think

of a house, it is built on a piece of land

which is owned by some one and this house

could be occupied or unoccupied. The land

on which the house is built belongs to the

rasi lord of the house, this land has been

leased to the Kal Purush kundali rasi lord,

on this leased piece of the land a house has

been built by the pakka ghar owner. The

planet occupying the house is a tenant in

that house.

Let us take an example, suppose some one

is born with Cancer ascendant then the

5th house will be described as : the land

belongs to the Mars [ lord of scorpio],

which has been leased to the Sun [ owner

of the 5th house in Kal Purush Kundali],

on this piece of land the Jupiter has built

a house [ Jupiter is the pakka house owner

of the 5th house ]. Which ever planet is

placed in the 5th house will be considered

as a tenant in the house of Jupiter which

has been built on the land leased to the

Sun by Mars.

Therefore while analyzing a house all

these planets: the rasi lord, the Kal purush

kundali owner of the house, the pakka

house owner and the planet occupying

the house have to be kept in mind.

Over and above that I, keeping in with

the traditional astrology, also take into

account the where the rasi lord [ bhavesh ]

of the house is placed.

And of course the aspect on the house

by other planets has to be kept in mind.

[ 3 ] Soya hua ghar : Dormant house

This is a new concept, exclusive to the

Lal Kitab. A house which is neither

occupied by a planet nor receives an

aspect from any planet will be considered

as not awake or dormant. The results of

such a house may not be felt till the house

is awakened. Which planet can awaken

which house is given in the form of a table

on page 26 Arun Sanhita [ 1952 ed ] or

page 98 of the 1952 urdu ed.

[ 4 ] Pahle ke ghar / baad ke ghar :

Houses from the 1st till the 6th are known

as pahale ke ghar and the houses from the

7th till the 12 are known as baad ke ghar.

In traditional astrology the pahale ke ghar

are known as adrashta ardha [ invisible half ]

and the baad ke ghar are known as the

drashta ardha [ visible half ]

These terms are often used in the

context of aspects.

Respected Priya-ji,

In point no. 3] dormant house:

lalkitab says dormant house and dormant planet are different. I

understand that in your next topic planets you will take 'dormant planet'.

Now the table says from which planet, thy house will be awaken. Eg. mars

for first house.

Now my question suppose house first is dormant than if mars is in

awaken state (gets awaken), it means that first house is awaken ? or

when mars will come in first house in Varshphal than house first will be

awaken. ?

With warm regards,

Vijay Goel

Dear Vijay ji,

[ 1 ] In my next installment when I come to explain the planets, I

will definitely talk about the dormant planets.

[ 2 ] When the 1st house is dormant, it means it is not occupied. In

order to awaken the 1st house one will have to do the upaya of Mars,

even if the mars is already awakened in the kundali.

God bless you,

Bhooshan Priya
