Respected Hemant ji,

An excellent query, thank you for asking this.

Feeding to the dogs for 43 days meethi rotis baked in a tandoor is

one of the upaya for Mars in the 8th house. It is normally done

during the problems of progeny.

Now let us understand the logic of this upaya, then only we will

understand why any thing of iron be it a rod or a tawa should not be

used for baking these rotis. This is our interpretation, others may

have their reservations about it.

Mars in the 8th house is considered a `tapati huyee bhatti' [ a red

hot oven ]. The book says;

Tandoor mitti ho jab ghar jalata, bachta baki na koi ho

Mars in the 8th is also considered a zahreela bhojan [ food that has

gone poisonous ]. Now the upaya suggested basically means that a

similar bhojan [ food ] be baked on a similar bhatti / tandoor. This

zahreela bhojan , representing mars, be given to Ketu

[dogs] an enemy of Mars. When these rotis are given to an enemy to

eat, the poison of the bhojan will be digested / eliminated.

Summarizing, the karak vastu of Mars of the 8th house is to be

given to its enemy.

Now what will happen if iron [ Saturn ] gets associated with Mars;

it becomes Rahu. Giving the karak vastu of Rahu to ketu [ dogs ]

will not serve the purpose because they are not enemies.

Therefore it is advised that the rotis be baked in a tandoor and not

on a tawa, and also care should be taken that iron doesn't come into

contact of these rotis

Regards,

Respected Varunji,

Thanks for the nice explanation as per lal-kitab.

But if we take vedic concept,

Rahu is bitter enemy of mars and ketu is treated same as mars, (ketu

co- lord scorpio rashi)

So by doing this upay it may means that "jahar, jahar ko kat ta

hai" , poisen cut poisen.

Please correct my thinking.

Best Wishes,

Vijay Goel

Respected Dharmaveer ji,

Mars is the karak planet for roti.

'mangal roti to rahu chulha' [ Arun Sanhita, 1952 ed; page 312]

The same is said on page 886 of the 1952 urdu edition.
